I had a first time client a couple days ago. I was so excited because she found me through TikTok. She got medium almond acrylics with just basic nude polish. Polish was DND and brand new never used before and it would not go on smoothly to save my life. She absolutely loved her shape. Loved my application of the acrylic and this polish job ruined it. I texted her the next day and offered for her to come back in and repaint them. But she said it was fine and that we would just pick a different color when she come in for a balance. I’m really, really hoping she returns.

Just a quick demonstration of my technique when applying builder gel to a natural square nail. Unfortunately, I didn't realise I wasn't recording the live until I put the hand in to cure. 🙈 One thing I forgot to emphasise in this demonstration was the importance of trying achieve a uniform thickness on the free edge of the nail. That is why I refine it with a file + buffer in the end, so there are no sides or corners of the nails that are "heavier". I want it to be evenly balanced

Round and squoval shapes distribute stress more evenly across the nail, making them far less prone to breakage. Sharp corners (especially on square or stiletto shapes) are natural weak points. BUT what's your favourite shape?

I would really love to learn more and become more skilled at acrylic and poly gel application and shaping. I did this freehand art set on my daughter. The enhancements are Gel X. The black french tips were my last acrylic set at school.
