Capital One changed a lot
Capital One has been changing fast over the past year, and a lot of people are still using old assumptions when they apply. What worked a few months ago may already be outdated. Here are 5 changes worth paying attention to: 1) Family rules got tighter If you get one Venture card, you may get locked out of bonuses on other Venture cards for 48 months. That means picking the wrong card first could cost you another welcome bonus for 4 years. 2) Referrals got more aggressive On Capital One Shopping, some people are reportedly seeing USD 80 referral payouts, and the referral cap may have increased from around USD 500 to USD 1,900. That usually signals they are pushing harder for user growth. 3) More transfer partners were added Capital One added Japan Airlines, Qatar Airways, and I Prefer Hotel Rewards. That brings the total to 22 transfer partners, which makes Capital One points more flexible than before. 4) Most cards are moving toward the Discover Network Debit cards and credit cards have already started shifting. If that keeps expanding, the network side of Capital One could look pretty different going forward. 5) Lounge access got worse Guest access is now USD 45 per visit. Authorized users no longer get lounge access unless you pay USD 125 per year per user, or hit very high spending thresholds like USD 75,000 per year for some access benefits. So yes, the perks are getting weaker in some areas. If you are building from scratch with an ITIN, limited file, or thin US credit history, card order matters more than people think. A lot of people focus only on approval. But the real move is to think about: • which product to start with • which bonus you may block yourself from later • whether the points are still worth it for your travel goals • whether the lounge benefits still justify the annual fee Bottom line Capital One is still relevant, but the rules, perks, and strategy are changing. If you are in Cloud Residents and looking at Capital One, make sure you choose the right first move.

Update after ITIN approval - 360 Checking
Hi cloud brothers, Yesterday, right after receiving the ITIN, the first move was applying for a credit card with Capital One. The pre-approval didn’t go through because they said there wasn’t enough credit history yet. No surprise there, we’re building from zero. So we pivoted and opened a Capital One 360 checking account instead. I submitted all the required documents, and today it was officially approved. Step one: banking relationship established. Next moves coming soon. I’ll keep sharing updates as the process unfolds.

Navy Federal account open and Zelle active!
Applied for Navy Federal last Saturday after seeing another post about it. I submitted the application using Method 1 (online) and by Monday evening received welcome email.. I was able to activate Zelle right away without ordering a debit card.

Why Your Capital One Limits Are Not Growing
Most people think requesting a credit limit increase is a risky move that hurts your score. With Capital One that is simply not true if you know how to trigger their system. This strategy gives you more breathing room and can boost your credit score by up to 50+ points as your utilization drops. The best part is that it requires zero hard inquiries on your credit report. Step 1: The Income Update Before you ever hit the request button you must update your profile information. Go into your settings and update your annual income. You are legally allowed to include total household income if you have reasonable access to it. A higher income figure on file immediately increases your internal approval odds for a larger limit. Step 2: The Clean Slate Capital One is very sensitive to current balances when they review an increase request. They want to see that you are using the card but they do not want to see you carrying debt. Pay your balance down to zero before you submit your request. Showing them a clean slate proves that you manage your current limit with ease. Step 3: The Velocity Play Their algorithm is looking for high transaction volume rather than just large dollar amounts. You should aim for at least 20+ transactions per month on the card. This consistent usage followed by payoff in full is exactly what their system is designed to reward. It proves you are an active user who does not pose a repayment risk. Because this is a soft pull you can test this strategy without any fear of earning a hard inquiry. See you in comments, Ain - Cloud Resident.

But 0% utilization is not good, is it ok to have like 9-10% utilization? or you mean at the moment you request a credit increase just have it paid off fully?
