These are all the parts that make up a clock/watch.”
1. Case – the outer shell that protects the inner components. 2. Dial/Face – shows the time, usually with numbers or markers. 3. Hands – indicate the hours, minutes, and sometimes seconds. 4. Movement/Mechanism – the engine of the clock, can be mechanical or quartz. 5. Gears (Wheel Train) – transfer power from the movement to the hands. 6. Escapement – regulates the release of energy to keep accurate time (mainly in mechanical clocks). 7. Power Source – a battery for quartz clocks, or a spring/weight for mechanical ones. 8. Crown or Adjustment Knob – used to set the time.
