Hard Question - How much should I rely on Copilot as a beginner?
I understand how powerful and how essential it is to use AI-assisted workflows today if you want to keep up with the pace of things. Productivity is easily 10x or more. But as a beginner who is only just learning python, I am worried that too much reliance on these tools too soon will make me a much worse programmer. I'm worried my ideas and problem-solving skills will not be as good. How do you guys think about this? How should I approach using coding copilots as a new dev?

@Vincent Samaha Thanks for sharing this perspective, Vincent. I would be remiss not to use these tools to their fullest potential. Programming as we knew it even a year ago is no more. For now, I would argue a big advantage in having deep technical knowledge when writing ai-assisted code. But as AI becomes better and better at coding, the technicality will be abstracted away and the advantage will grow ever smaller.

@Mikel Gore Wow, I had no idea about this. Interesting idea
Setting Up Environment Variables - Need Help
I'm following Dave's tutorial on setting up the .env file with your sensitive information. When I use load_dotenv(dotenv_path) It returns false. While Dave's returns true in his video. When I use API_KEY = os.getenv("API_KEY") PASSWORD = os.getenv("PASSWORD") I'm still able to retrieve the values from the .env and print them in the interactive notebook, but it's bugging me why it says false. Why is this?

Zero To Python Beginner In 12 Days!
Just wrapped up the Python course today on Kaggle. I also completed the Intro to Programming course on Kaggle last week. I've put about 20 total hours in, and I've taken 7500 words of notes, explaining every last line of every function I came across that I did not understand at first glance. If I didn't understand something, I would use ChatGPT to figure it out, problem solve, and explain what was going on line by line. I found the process to be an enjoyable flow state! I'm psyched to start setting up my environment and workflow in VS Code and start working on some real-world stuff + kaggle challenges, then dive into machine learning intro course. If you're just starting out from zero, immerse yourself until you resurface as a changed person! Best of luck guys
