So PMI has reduced the exam breaks from 10 mins to 5 mins. What are your thoughts?
During the PMP exam, you get 2 breaks of 10 minutes each. In the new PMP Exam Content Outline (ECO) which will take effect July 2026, you still get 2 breaks but they are now 5 minutes each. I don't know what prompted this decision but 5 minutes is too small, especially if you are taking the exam at a test center. I would love to hear your thoughts.

@Ravikumar Puthran @Yewande Dayspring-Adenusi can you please tell me how did you manage submission of 3 sections with 60 questions each and also how PMI displays the time in the present exam? Is the time for each section separately displayed and you have to submit first 60 questions -section 1) and go for a break and come back for 2nd set of 60 questions and timer starts again or is the clock never stops and time displayed is overall for 180 questions [230 mins + 10 mins break *2]? Please let me know how you guyz managed and what are the best practices to follow?

Mock question- any guesses?
Q1. As a result of a drastic cut to the budget, a project's steering committee is replaced with a single sponsor. What should the project manager do? A.Draft a new project update and share it with the project sponsor B.Modify the communications management plan to reflect the change in stakeholder community C.Submit a change request to the change control board (CCB) to record the change in stakeholder structure D.Schedule a meeting with the sponsor to discuss the change to the budget Q2. A project manager for an IT implementation is leveraging multiple IT resources. The functional manager of a technical specialist on the project team has pulled the specialist away from the project to deal with a critical customer issue. This delays meeting the project’s scheduled milestone. What should the project manager do first? A.Analyze the impact and delay losing the specialist will have on the schedule and budget. B.Ensure that the specialist’s time working on the customer issue is not charged against the project’s budget. C.Schedule a meeting with the project stakeholders to review and accept the communications management plan. D.Speak with the functional manager and gain commitment to get the specialist back as soon as possible.

Hi @Lakeisha Bethea , thank you for your inputs. For the first question, correct ans is B. Since sponsor is now a new stakeholder, the communication plans needs to be updated and probably the stakeholder register. For Q2, D is the right answer as it is given that absence of team member delays the schedule.
My PMP Journey
Dear All, This is my first post on this platform! I passed my PMP exam last Saturday on my first try, achieving above-target scores in all three domains. I want to share my preparation and study journey so it can hopefully assist others preparing for the exam. Alert: It is a lengthy post! First, let's clarify one thing: The test is challenging, and timing during the exam and how much time you allocate to each question are crucial for your success. Another thing you need to be clear on is what motivates you to sit the exam and succeed. One of my motivations was to pass the exam before the 8th Edition of PMBOK became available! Now, let’s get into the details. · Success factors: 1. Study diligently. 2. Stay consistent with your studying. 3. Study the PMP mindset and incorporate it into your material. 4. Use various mock exams to become familiar with different styles. 5. Don't panic during the exam if you feel unsure about the answers. · Preparation: Let’s break it down – 1. I started with the AR 35-hour online course on Udemy to get my PDUs. I studied for 1.5 hours early in the morning and for another 1.5 to 2 hours after work every day for the past 2 months. During the weekends, I spent about 8 to 10 hours studying. 2. I created a study plan to sit the exam in early November, but like any other project, I faced some obstacles along the way and had to make adjustments and deviate from the original plan. The main challenge was daily work, as we were in the middle of a cutover, and the go-live was just about to happen. Additionally, I included more mock exams in my study schedule. 3. During this time, I also applied for the exam. To ensure my application would be accepted, I watched the AR YouTube video on using AI to apply. It worked really well, and I was able to submit the PMI application form quickly. 4. I studied the AR PMP exam prep book and read it twice, and then bought the AR exam simulator for the mock exams. I also used the PMBOK Guide 7th Edition, the PMBOK Guide 6th Edition, and the Agile Practice Guide.

Congratulations @David Ghotbi. Did you have carrot cake yet? Can you please explain in detail about type of exam questions you received? What was the % of agile vs hybrid vs predictive? Was the exam easier than PMI study hall or was it closer to TIA mock simulators. May I ask how was your % score in study hall full length mocks and mini exams as well as in TIA mock simulators?
Which one is correct and why?
At a review meeting, the project manager learns about unclear requirements that may impact the project’s scheduled completion. The project sponsor still wants to meet the original deadline. How should the project manager approach the issue using agile practices? A.Use iterative delivery and prioritize the requirements based on their importance and impact. B.Inform the sponsor that a change request for scope will be added to the next iteration. C.Log unclear scope as an issue and escalate it to the product owner for a decision on unclear requirements. D.Request that the scrum master clarify the scope before continuing the project.

Thank you for your comments @Ravikumar Puthran and @Magued Ghobreal . Even I thought so that correct option is (C) as in the agile framework, it is the product manager that prioritizes the requirements and add it in product backlog but as per PMI correct answer is (A). The explanation for A is In this scenario, the project manager should use iterative delivery, meaning that they should continue with the project but prioritize requirements based on their importance and impact. This approach allows for the project to progress while addressing the unclear requirements in a way that aligns with the project sponsor's desire to meet the original deadline. It also allows for flexibility to adapt as more clarity emerges. The logic why (C) is not right is because logging the unclear scope as an issue and escalating it to the product owner is not the best approach because the product owner may not have the time or expertise to clarify the requirements. In agile practices, teams are encouraged to prioritize and make decisions collaboratively rather than escalating every issue to a higher authority.

@Magued Ghobreal not sure..because nowhere in the problem statement it mentions about project delay or any time limit so that PM is tied with resources and does not have time to assess..it is one of those question that has a thin line where it can fall between A or C
Mock tests practice
Hi everyone, For all those who have taken TIA exam simulators and PMI study hall or currently taking, how did you improve your score in successive mock tests? Was reviewing feedback after the mock helped you or revision of mindset or AR video lectures helped you improve? Please send your comments. @Yewande Dayspring-Adenusi @Ravikumar Puthran @Ely Ortiz any suggestions how did you overcome this barrier from your experiences? Would love to hear those. Thank you

@Ravikumar Puthran Thanks! I agree, solving the issue questions requires a concrete action and mostly follows the internal project docs or flow. One question, in the exam since we have 3 slots of 60 questions each, I am assuming each slot consists questions from people, process and business environment and includes agile and traditional approaches.
