3/11/26 Trading With Friends : Learning Day 📚
3/11/26 Trading With Friends : Learning Day 📚 Today I learned something important about my platform and order execution. Earlier I thought I had taken a full trade, but after reviewing the order log I realized I hadn't actually completed a full trade cycle yet. I was seeing the bracket orders (stop loss and take profit) that Tradovate automatically places when entering a position. 👀 Seeing how those orders appear in the log helped me understand how the platform protects the trade once an order is filled. 📉 Market-wise, price pushed up toward resistance around 25,114, rejected it, then moved back down toward support near 25,035. Watching that sequence helped me see how levels get tested before the market chooses direction. 📈 Another adjustment I made today was setting my preset risk to 1 contract with $250 risk so I can stay disciplined while learning the structure. 📊 Rookie takeaway: Understanding how your platform executes orders is just as important as understanding the chart. I didnt know I didnt do a trade FULL trade at first! I was doing BRACKET ORDERS TIED TO THE SAME TRADE😅 1. I entered a trade (Sell Market). 2. Tradovate automatically placed: 3. One of those exits closed the position. 4. The other order was canceled, which still shows in the order history. So the list looks long, but it’s basically one trade plus its protection orders. FULL Trade 1: -$296 FULL Trade 2: (did not take) Still learning, still practicing patience, and grateful to study this alongside everyone here! 👏 Staying Thankful! Let's go fam! ~*O*~
