@Sophia Kelly The need of this program is aimed more for students who are showing up to school for the first time (prek), very developmentally delayed due to their home environment, not so much a disability/diagnosis. We have such an increase in "trauma students", as we sometimes describe them. These students are showing up very overwhelmed in a full classroom with little to no social/adaptive/regulation skills. Which as you can imagine causes extreme problem behaviors in the classroom. The students in this "program" would only be our top tier 3 students (very few), 5-8 weeks in a "target" classroom, BCBA, Psych, Teacher & Aide on staff. First few weeks really working on those skill deficits, then generalizing by pushing into another classroom with peers, then pushing back into their home school by the end. Which also have BCBAs that travel and can assist in the transition process. Our state does not have alternative placements so we are trying to create something similar...
