Not fitness related per se.. just something that deeply impacted me
So today, at bedtime, our daughter said something that really stayed with me. She said, “Mumma… you’re a girl, so you have to go to the office. I know that.” The background is simple—my husband works from home (because he can), and I go to the office (litigation lawyer life). But what struck me wasn’t the statement itself—it was the meaning behind it. For her, what she sees is what she understands. Mumma is a girl, and she goes to the office. Papa stays home. So that must be how the world works. It’s so diametrically opposite to the version of the world we’re often told is “typical.” It made me realise just how deeply children absorb their reality from what they witness every day. And it made me wonder—if they grow up seeing us as fit, happy, fulfilled, and content individuals… is that the normal they’ll carry into their own future? 🤞
