Why Collecting Data Is One of the Most Powerful Marketing Tools for Massage Therapists
Most massage therapists rely on hope marketing. They post on Instagram… Maybe run a promotion… Wait for bookings… But the therapists who grow to fully booked clinics or £10k+ months do one thing differently: They collect and use data. Not complicated corporate data… just simple information about your clients. The 5 Types of Data Every Massage Therapist Should Collect 1️⃣ Where clients found you Ask every new client: “How did you hear about us?” Examples: - Instagram - Google search - Word of mouth - Personal trainer referral - YouTube After 100 clients you’ll know exactly what marketing works. Example: - 45% Google - 30% PT referrals - 20% Instagram - 5% random Now you know where to double down. 2️⃣ The reason for treatment Track common issues: - Neck pain - Lower back pain - Running injuries - Shoulder issues - Stress & tension This tells you what your audience actually needs. If 40% of your clients have desk posture issues, guess what content you should make? 👉 “3 Stretches for Office Workers” This then forms your target market! (If is different to your niche then something is not added up !) just saying 3️⃣ Client occupation This is a hidden goldmine. You may notice patterns like: - Office workers - Personal trainers - Runners - Builders - CrossFit athletes Now you can market directly to them. Example content: - “Sports massage for runners” - “Massage for desk workers” - “Recovery for gym athletes” 4️⃣ Treatment frequency Track how often people return: - Every week - Every month - Only when injured This helps you design better memberships and packages. At I at Zeers Therapy, use memberships and packages and they work because we know many clients benefit from monthly treatments or a few treatments in short cycles! 5️⃣ Client results Track improvements like: - Pain reduction - Increased range of motion - Faster recovery - Performance improvements - These become powerful testimonials and case studies.

This is gold! Most therapists (from what I have seen) struggle with Data and tracking in general. I didn't realize that Vagaro offered that- is it just the questions on the intake form on there? How long have you been using? Vagaro?
How to get clarity over what to post on Social Media
Things to think about Pre posting who is your audience? What is their issue what can you do to help them? 1. What do you want to achieve awareness? Sells? Engagement? 2. What do you want your audience to do ? Learn about you? Interact with your post IG like comment follow or share ? Or book on your page ? 3. Based off the responses eg target of sells measure the outcome ? Did you get a DM a sell a comment a like ect. Note promotions is not you posted once then thats it you need to nature the audience! If you would like a tutorial on how to do this comment below and ill make a video explaining!

When I practiced I felt confident with my pricing. BUT it is definitely a challenge within the community and our industry in general. Great topic for a podcast 👍🏼

Hey! I'm Misty, retired massage therapist, turned teacher and continued education provider. I have taught pathology, cupping, ethics, CBD Massage, business and laws, but my biggest passion is teaching about the Endocannabinoid system (ECS). I love being able to bridge the gap between massage therapy, nervous system regulation, and our endocannabinoid systems. I recently wrote a book, have been blessed to speak on a few stages, and I enjoy time outside in the sun with my family.
