RIGHT… STORY FOR YA Years ago I had this friend who told me she couldn’t watch horror movies because it was “dark energy.” Like could not be in the house if one was on. She’d be like “nope… I can’t be around that energy… it’s bad… I need to go out.” Proper kerfuffle about it… big energy speech…EW Meanwhile… she’s sat there eating a sausage sandwich… And I remember sitting there thinking (in my head OBVS because back then I kept my mouth shut)… hang on a second… so let me get this straight… you can’t watch a horror film because of DARK ENERGY… but you’re eating an animal that was enslaved, tortured, slaughtered, chopped into pieces and shoved into a sausage… and that energy is totally fine. WTF Now before anyone gets their knickers in a twist… this post isn’t actually about BEING VEGAN. That part just happens to be a true story. The real point is this… Back then I stayed quiet. I didn’t say anything. Not because I didn’t have the thought (OBVS the thought was there loud and clear in my head)… but because I didn’t think it was my place to say it out loud. I’m not that person anymore. Now I understand something that took me a long time to learn. I have a VOICE for a reason. Not to attack people, not to be nasty DUH… but to stand up for the things I actually believe in. So yes… now I will absolutely speak up for animals. If I see someone kick a dog… I will say something. If I see someone mistreat a human… I will say something. Not with violence, OBVS… but with my voice. Because silence helps nobody… And here’s where this loops right back to business (HELLO… you knew that bit was coming) Too many people are trying to build businesses while tiptoeing around their own opinions… scared to say something, scared to offend someone, scared someone might disagree, scared someone might unfollow them… all that polite little dance. But leaders don’t sit quietly hoping everyone approves of them. Leaders LEAD! They stand for something. They say the thing others are too nervous to say out loud. They have conviction. They have perspective. They have a BACKBONE

🚨 A Weekend EXPERIMENT That Made Me Question How We’re Using SKOOL!
(or… the weekend I stopped posting content and went FULL HUMAN) Right… so this weekend I ran a little experiment on myself that started as curiosity and ended with a bit of an OOOFFFF moment. For three days I stopped posting content completely. No posts inside my community or outside No “quick thoughts”. No AI-ing (anywhere). Nada. Not a tofu sausage. Instead I decided I was only allowed to do one thing. Actually talk to humans. Reply to comments. Jump into existing threads. Go back through notifications. Respond properly instead of doing the lazy “great post!” drive-by. And oooffff… the results surprised me. Not because of anything clever I did. But because of what it revealed about how I (and probably a lot of us) spend our time inside communities. ◉ WHERE THIS IDEA EVEN CAME FROM Last week I was watching the Skool news and @Sam Ovens mentioned something that made my brain go HMMMM. He said he posts maybe one piece of content a week and then spends most of his time inside conversations. Listening to people. Replying. Being present in the comments. Now before anyone jumps on me with “CONTENT IS IMPORTANT” yes, OBVS DUH content matters. I literally work with messaging and content all the time so it would be a bit awkward if I suddenly pretended content didn’t exist. But the thing that stuck in my head was the balance. How much time are we actually spending creating content… versus actually talking to HUMANS. Because if we’re honest (and we’re allowed to be honest in here hey)… writing content can feel productive, but it doesn’t always mean we’re actually connecting with people. S o instead of debating the idea in my head I thought… Right… let’s test it. ◉ THE RULES OF THE EXPERIMENT For three days I gave myself two rules. 1️⃣ Rule one was NO CONTENT AT ALL. - No posting in communities. - No posting on socials. - No quick updates. - No “this might be interesting” thoughts. 2️⃣ Rule two was NO AI. (whatsoever)

@Tiffany Noel Taylor great question, well I am a totes curious being, and when Same mentioned about him doing just one post (look i know there are many factors) well it got me thinking DEEPLY, what and where was i spending my time... would one badass peice of content and 1000 comments create deep conversation or vice versa.. lots more to experiment, and I am obsessed. Wanna join us for the next BACKROOM SECRET MISSION, have a few up my sleeve!
