Mine is “are you sure you are good enough for that?” What I’m doing about it: 1. Asking myself where I first learned or integrated this thought 2. Speaking to myself with kindness (being mean to myself never helped anything) 3. Finding examples in real life that prove this thought wrong. Ex, my friend and coworker messaged me a beautiful message of gratitude that I am here, creating and doing the thing 💕
If you are with someone who has just poked a wound or triggered your fight or flight, it’s absolutely acceptable to say “let me regulate my nervous system and get back to you”.
