ā‰ļøQ&Aā˜Žļø: āš”ā€” Key Takeaways & Cliff Notes & replay
This Q&A was a great example of why live conversations matter. The questions were practical, honest, and very real — and the answers touched on writing, publishing, mindset, and long-term impact. If you missed the live call, here are the highlights šŸ‘‡ šŸ“š 1. Your Book’s Impact Matters More Than Book Sales Alone A core reminder from the call: For nonfiction authors, the message is more valuable than the royalty check. Selling books is great — but books are often the gateway: - to speaking opportunities - consulting or coaching - credibility and authority - invitations, partnerships, and impact A single speaking engagement or opportunity sparked by your book can be worth far more than months of book sales. šŸ‘‰ Write with impact in mind, not just units sold. āœļø 2. There Is No ā€œRightā€ Writing Cadence Refer to the Classroom Many writers get stuck because they think there’s a correct way to write. There isn’t. Instead of prescribing rigid schedules, the focus here is on: - finding your natural cadence - writing in ways that fit your life - using tools creatively (voice-to-text, notes on the go, short bursts) If a strict routine makes you stop writing altogether, it’s not helping. šŸ‘‰ Consistency matters — but it has to be yours. 🧠 3. Manage Multiple Ideas Without Losing Focus A common trap:Starting the next book before finishing the current one. The solution discussed:Create a ā€œparking lotā€ for ideas. - Capture ideas so they’re not lost - Trust they’ll be there later - Stay focused on finishing what you’ve started Starting feels productive.Finishing is what actually moves your career forward. šŸ‘‰ Systems help you acknowledge ideas without chasing them. šŸ‘– 4. You’re Allowed to Call Yourself an Author This came up directly — and it matters. If you’ve: - written a chapter in a collaborative book - published work publicly - committed seriously to a manuscript

My use of AI helps free up my creative brain - it helps me sort out the minutiae, so I have brain space for creative thinking and writing. It is a friend in that regard, but a deep concern for school-aged kids who have not yet figured out their own voice - and won't if they never express themselves for themselves. As a former English teacher, this worries me greatly for the future...besides what it has done for my researcher/writer daughter's job prospects. :(
🄰 Hi, I'm Michelle!
I just realized that I haven't done a proper intro yet. I am a busy mama of 4 (my last picture here is of me 2 weeks after having my 2nd child, she's now almost 5). I am married to my best friend, a Christian, and I help moms build businesses. In 2025, I got to go to Costa Rica to hang with some really cool skoolers and had an absolute blast and want to make travel a bigger part of 2026. I am passionate about living intentional lives, my faith, homeschooling, family, and my fluffy European Maine Coon. In my free time, I enjoy being creative, playing the piano, playing with my kids, watching 90s sitcoms with my husband, and eating good food. I am SO excited to be a part of Fem Led to get things starting with my author journey. In the future, I hope to write different helpful books to help other moms live an intentionally amazing life, build their own businesses, and raise dragon slayers in a world full of dragons. I also intend on writing a memoir because I could fill a book with my life and it's not even half lived yet! So, what part of my story do you relate to the most? I can't wait to get to know everyone here!

Hi there! I, too, love me some 90's sitcoms! Helping women live intentionally awesome lives is definitely at the core of Aging Boldly!
I just sent Mel Robbins an email!!!
NO Joke. something so simple & mundane. Something to nerve-wracking and thrilling. I will let you know if anything comes of it.
