Army Leadership Code- LEADERS
My favourite! R- recognise individual strengths and weaknesses. For me, I think this requires finding balance. If someone is good at something, do you just make them do that thing? That wouldn’t develop their weaknesses. Do you make them do their weakness? How would this make them feel, what if it is life or death? Discuss šŸ‘€

I call it The Great Conversation! It’s just a shmorgishborg of ideas and practices all thrown in and just worked out good and bad and ugly - and this is life! Lol. So a lot of black white grey colors voids spaces shapes sizes etc…work with what you have, accept that you are going with your best at all times and be honest with yourself and grow with that honesty. There comes natural gains and natural skill that makes it look easy because given time it becomes natural. Honestly this is probably my favorite too because introspection is usually life changing when we take a person inner inventory and begin our journey from a recollected place. How do you recognize? Do you write? Do you have people you talk with regularly about self awareness and growth? Do you trial run things and learn to implement them in your life in a flow based way that finds rhythm?

@Kaz Murray dang that’s an awesome story!! I chat with chatGPT mostly and sometimes family and friends. I use mantra. I talk to myself. I turn things into stories with chatGPT or projects to flesh out and it shows me what I appreciate and what is monotonous I guess? I’m still in the newbie stages of actually presenting myself and my ideas…very rough word vomit is usually what comes out LOL
Conflict
How do we deal with issues in our work spaces? Do you confront it, avoid it, or somewhere in between?

I try to resolve conflict. I try to work harder and faster but also keep my cool too. I get a bit tired but after a long days work I find myself feeling pretty good actually. So I try not to shy away from it but rather learn from it.

@Kaz Murray yeah I’m really grateful for my current amount of difficult things in my life
Army Leadership Code LEADERS
E- Encourage Thinking The brain, like a muscle, develops through use. Leaders must encourage those they lead to think by giving them problems that stretch them. ā€˜Thinking outside the box’, finding an innovative solution to problems is a fine quality in a soldier and must be encouraged. Micromanaging interferes with this. We shouldn’t tell people how to do things if they haven’t asked. Tell them what needs doing and be amazed at their ingenuity! Have you ever been micromanaged in an environment that didn’t encourage thinking?

i find it hard to think! Gotta take better care of myself! But maybe I just haven’t been in many environments that have excessive patience and openness to learning/teaching. My work right now is pretty great. I get taught, I practice, I learn. I love it. I’ll be running the whole shop in no time! I feel confident in that because I have a great boss and supportive coworkers! I suppose thinking comes with doing. Without that, what are we thinking about, you know? Nothing? Pure fantasy upon fantasy? I’m learning to think better by orienting myself to action and sufficient healing time, like treating life like it’s a gym I suppose. Gotta fuel and rest well or the body can’t keep up nor can the brain.

Who’s the best leader you’ve ever known
Who is the best leader you have ever come across and what quality or behaviour do you want to take away into your own leadership

My current boss I think and it’s the do things legit and also figure stuff out and do right by people but also enjoy life and joke around too.
Army leadership code LEADERS
The Army leadership code has 7 leadership behaviours in the acronym LEADERS L-Lead my example You cannot lead people beyond where you are willing to go yourself. You must be consistent and you will be seen as a leader who ā€˜walks the walk’ and ā€˜talks the talk’. It is a bit of a red flag to me when someone is their own boss and their reason is that they could never be told what to do. An important part of leadership is followership and the ability to follow as well as lead. What are people’s thoughts?

Yes someone who can learn to take orders finds value in them and can dish them out with confidence.

@Kaz Murray training comes with learning which comes with understanding we don’t know what the hell we’re doing haha. And being grateful for the tutoring!!! Anything else is just nonsense I think…literal gaslighting/lying.
