want to check i have succession correct
I have a lead where the owners on record are dead. they had 7 children. One of the children is dead but that person also had 7 kids. So, that means the 7 grand kids are entitled to the dead childs portion of the property?
Is there a chart to follow for Maternal and Paternal kindred?
doing research and found a property and everyone is dead. Property owner is dead, Parents are dead. The only sibling is dead. No children, but the siblings wife is alive. Following the intestate chart the wife isn't entitled to anything. Not sure who would inherit the property at this point.

@Christina Sanchez yes, I have the chart. I’m just not sure who of the paternal and maternal kindred is entitled to the property unless it’s all of them.

Do we still go after properties that have a will?
Obviously the biggest part of this business is going after properties with no will. But, are we still going after properties with a will? I assume yes because there is still back taxes and possibly heirs that dont talk to each other. If anything the will just makes it easier to determine who has a stake in the property right?

@Christina Sanchez ok, thats helpful. I assume if its been probated the deal is most likely dead because debts usually need to be paid off right?
