Welcome to my school!
I have been thinking about doing something like this for about 10 years now...so welcome! It is about time. First off: I know everybody has a different level of comfort talking about themselves. I don't especially like it but I am the coach so I need to. You don't have to but it would be nice to hear : 1. Favorite way to work out. 2. Your big goal or goals this year. 3. Dog or cat lover? 4. Wine, beer or Ice tea? I will start. I enjoy sandbags and trail running. I do the Leadville Heavy half trail race every year but this year I want to add a 50k race. My motto is " Lift Heavy Pet Dogs" All the above please.

Thank you. I will take you up on this.
Always remember the two types of soreness
Getting back in shape after 50 basically gives you two flavors of discomfort to choose from: 1. The mild, short-lived kind: “Huh, my legs are talking to me today after those squats.” It fades in 24–48 hours, you feel proud, and everything moves better tomorrow. 2. The slow-burn, permanent kind: “Why does my lower back hate me every time I get out of the car or pick up a laundry basket?” It never really goes away, it just gets louder the longer you ignore it. One is the price of progress. The other is the price of doing nothing. I’ve felt both. Most of my clients have too. The funny thing? The first one always feels way worse in the moment, but a week later you can’t even remember it. The second one? You remember it every single morning. So yeah… pick your discomfort. I know which one I’d rather pay. Who’s with me on the short-term version today? Drop a 👊 if you’re moving—even just 10 minutes. — Mike

Holiday Workouts
Remember during the holidays you don't have to be perfect with your workouts but you still need to show up. Maybe it is 20 to 30 minutes but get something in everyday. 1. You will feel better psychologically. 2. You can work on your rehab assignments which will translate to you being in less pain over the holiday or at least take you mind off of worrying if something will happen. 3. You temporarily conquer the Chimp mind. 4. You won't feel like you have to make up ground in January. Do what you can and don't judge yourself.
