Back in Our Flying Days
Gen X fam, remember when flying felt different? - When you could actually walk someone to the gate. - When legroom existed. - When they fed you a real meal. - When you dressed up for flights like you might run into somebody Now? We're boarding in Group 8, doing yoga in the aisles just to stand up, and praying nobody sits in our seat. So let's reminisce 👇🏾What’s one thing about "back in the day" flying that you wish would come back? - Gate access? - Free checked bags? - Free meals? - No TSA? - Smoking sections? - Something else? Drop your answer below and let’s take this nostalgic flight together ✌🏾

Yes for me walking my loved ones to the gate and being able to say goodbye and making sure that they made it safely to the flight. Makes all the difference. Definitely miss those days
This or That?
Winter has a way of showing you two completely different kinds of magic. You can step into the sparkle of a city dressed in lights or escape to a quiet Arctic world where everything feels softer and slower. Both offer a reset in their own way. Both give you space to breathe after a long year. So tell me if you had to choose your winter escape right now would it be New York City or Lapland?

That’s a tough one — they’re totally different kinds of reset.Right now I’d choose Lapland. Quiet, slower pace, and that feeling of the world being hushed sounds like exactly what winter should be for me. NYC is magic when you want energy and sparkle — but Lapland feels like the kind of place where you actually exhale. Ask me again after a long summer though… the answer might change 😉
Big 5-0 & Full of Fabulousness: Travel Wisdom from my Journeys
Today, I hit the big 5-0. Fifty years of love, lessons, laughter, and of course… layovers. If there’s one thing travel has taught me over the years, it’s this: you don’t just age, you evolve. Every trip, every passport stamp, every missed flight has been part of that evolution. I’ve learned that: - Solo trips aren’t lonely, they’re soul-growing. - Group travel isn’t about numbers, it’s about vibes. - The destination is dope but the transformation is divine. - Comfort zones make cute prisons. Freedom lives in the unknown. I’m grateful for every moment. The good, the ghetto, and the Girl, we made it moments. So today, I’m raising my reusable travel water bottle to: - More culture-rich cruises - Deeper roots travel - Peaceful getaways and building the most fly and dope Gen X travel tribe right here in Skool! What’s one piece of travel wisdom YOU would gift your younger self? Or where are you headed next to celebrate YOU?

This hit deep especially “comfort zones make cute prisons.” That’s wisdom earned, not quoted. If I could gift my younger self one piece of travel wisdom, it’d be this: You don’t need to feel ready to go you just need to go. Confidence shows up after the ticket, not before it. Also love how you framed solo, group, and transformation that’s real Gen X perspective, not highlight-reel travel. Cheers to 50, to evolution, and to building a travel tribe that actually feels like one 🥂✈️

2024 Travel Trends: A Generational Deep Dive into Evolving Preferences
As we navigate through 2024, the travel industry is witnessing distinct preferences across different generations. Understanding these nuances is crucial for industry stakeholders aiming to cater to diverse traveler needs. Drawing insights from Hilton's 2024 Trends Report, let's explore the unique travel inclinations of Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials, and Generation Z. Baby Boomers (Ages 57 - 74): Culinary Enthusiasts Seeking Authenticity: Baby Boomers prioritize culinary experiences during their travels. A significant 45% allocate a substantial portion of their travel budget to dining, with 86% seeking local and regional cuisines. They prefer in-person dining over take-out options and are less inclined to embrace QR codes, indicating a preference for traditional dining experiences. This generation values authenticity and comfort, often seeking destinations that offer rich cultural and historical contexts. Generation X (Ages 43 - 58): Balancing Technology with Novel Experiences: Gen X travelers exhibit a balanced approach, integrating technology into their travel plans while cherishing new experiences. Approximately 79% expect seamless functionality of personal devices during their trips, and the same percentage prefers the convenience of online bookings. They seek novelty, with 84% desiring new experiences and 78% looking for pampering during their travels. Culinary adventures are significant, with 87% exploring local cuisines and 81% valuing quality hotel restaurants. This generation appreciates personalized recommendations, blending technological convenience with authentic experiences. Millennials (Ages 27 - 42): Comfort Seekers Willing to Invest: Millennials emphasize comfort and are prepared to invest in their travel experiences. A notable 83% find it essential to feel cared for while traveling, and they are willing to spend more for comfort and convenience. Their travel budgets often prioritize indulgence and wellness-focused experiences, reflecting a desire for holistic well-being during trips. This generation seeks unique and personalized experiences, often gravitating towards destinations offering diverse cultural and recreational activities.

Love this generational breakdown — it still holds up really well. One thing I’ve noticed as we head into 2026 is that the lines between generations are blurring a bit, especially around confidence, trust, and ease. Across Gen X, Millennials, and even Boomers, I’m seeing less focus on “how cheap can I travel” and more on “who’s helping me make good decisions without stress.” Tech is expected to work, but people don’t want to think about it — they want clarity, human guidance, and experiences that feel intentional. The culinary trend especially feels less like a “trend” now and more like a baseline expectation. Food has become the fastest way people judge whether a trip felt authentic or forgettable. What’s also emerging strongly is small-group, people-first travel — not big tours, not solo-without-support, but curated experiences where travelers feel safe, connected, and understood. That seems to resonate across generations more than age-based preferences alone. Curious if others are seeing the same shift as we move beyond “trends” and into what feels like a new normal for travel.
