Recursive logic
Recursive logic is thought that feeds back into itself. for example: If I choose stability over freedom, I won't be happy, but if i choose freedom over security, I'm always afraid. We face recursive logic all the time, but 99% of the time these are false equivalencies. For example, failure and success are not opposites. Success comes from trying and achieving your goals. Failure comes from not trying at all. If its 10 degrees Fahrenheit (-12c) and your car doesn't start, you would say (expletive, expletive, expletive), the car failed to start, but if the car does start and you knock the snow and ice off, get two blocks and the car dies. You don't talk about the car failing but what was wrong with the car. You start diagnosing the problem. like CRAP the battery died. As we grow our businesses in 2026 don't worry about failing. If you've made it this far you can't fail, you can only learn from you past mistakes, maybe even the mistakes of others and do better. Let's have a call and let me help you learn from my mistakes. Be Better in 2026!! Happy New Year!

$ 1500 Appsheet build request Summary We are a U.S.-based industrial safety and fire protection organization providing NFPA testing services (ladders, hose, pumps, and related equipment). Our technicians currently collect test data using Google Sheets with embedded formulas. We are looking to replace this workflow with a tablet-friendly app that allows technicians to complete structured data forms in the field while automatically handling calculations, pass/fail logic, and report generation. Project Goal Build a reliable, easy-to-use mobile/tablet application that: Replaces manual Google Sheets data entry Automates existing equations and validation rules Works in real-world field conditions Produces professional, defensible NFPA testing records Key Requirements Tablet-optimized UI (iPad + Android) Form-based data entry for multiple NFPA test types Automatic calculations and pass/fail logic Offline data capture with secure sync when online User roles (technicians, admin/office) Timestamped entries and basic audit trail PDF report generation matching our current test formats Central data storage with export capability (we retain data ownership) Preferred Approach We are open to: Low-code platforms (AppSheet, Power Apps, ProntoForms, etc.) Custom-built solutions (PWA or native) if justified We value practical, maintainable solutions over over-engineered systems. What We Will Provide Sample Google Sheets showing current fields and equations Existing NFPA test report examples Clear descriptions of workflows and field use cases Feedback during development and testing Ideal Candidate Experience Mobile or tablet data collection apps Offline-first workflows Form logic, calculations, and validation rules PDF/report generation Prior work with inspections, testing, safety, construction, or industrial field teams is a plus To Apply, Please Include A brief summary of relevant projects Example(s) of mobile or tablet data-capture apps you’ve built Your recommended platform/approach and why Estimated timeline for a first working prototype Ballpark budget range for Phase 1 This project has the potential to expand beyond the initial build as we roll out additional NFPA test types and reporting workflows.

@Heather Di Rocco Most definitely not a finished product. I hope to get those nasty bugs out this weekend. It's taking me a little longer than expected. If someone just needs a list form and check boxes, by all means use an LLM model. But the Appsheet version provides more value and therefore can be offered at a higher price point. 1) The client can filter per inspector/user 2) A lot of clients especially older mangers are not yet comfortable with having their business data managed in an LLM. 3) Appsheet's database is HIPAA compliant so its good for holding sensitive personal information. 4) The software is managed by Google so more likely to be around for support. Drawbacks, the wireframe design and limited font variation is not sexy. We can change some colors but that's about it. Even though its no-code, its still a software build and system builds come with bugs and delays initially, so managing those expectations early is crucial. That said, the market value of the Appsheet version of this checklist is about $199 to $299. :-)

Just finished an Inventory management App. In this video, I walk through a complete mobile-first inventory management app built in AppSheet — covering inventory tracking, purchase orders, sales orders, stock levels, and automated calculations. This app uses a clean, scalable data model where inventory and balances are calculated automatically from posted transactions, not manually edited. Draft orders don’t affect stock or financials, and posted orders update everything in real time — ensuring accuracy, traceability, and control. 🚀 What you’ll see in this walkthrough: - How inventory stock is calculated automatically from purchases and sales - Draft vs Posted order logic (and why it matters) - Purchase Orders with multiple line items - Sales Orders that safely reduce inventory - Reorder levels, reorder flags, and reorder quantities - Transparent inventory item detail views showing exactly where numbers come from - A mobile-first UX design that works seamlessly on phones and tablets 🧠 Why this AppSheet inventory model works: - No manual stock adjustments - No double counting - Easy corrections using Post / Void logic - Fully auditable inventory and financial data - Scales cleanly as your business grows This is the same design pattern used in professional inventory, accounting, and ERP systems — implemented using no-code AppSheet. 👥 Who this video is for: - AppSheet builders (beginner to advanced) - No-code developers - Small business owners managing inventory - Consultants building internal tools - Anyone learning how to design real business apps in AppSheet 🛠️ Built With: - AppSheet - Spreadsheet-based data sources - Virtual columns and status-driven logic - Mobile-first UX patterns 🔔 Want more AppSheet tutorials? 1. AI-Powered Compliance Tracker Target: Construction, healthcare, logistics, finance. Problem: Businesses face increasing compliance/regulation requirements. App Idea: Build an AppSheet or Airtable app that auto-logs compliance checks, integrates AI to summarize gaps, and sends alerts before deadlines. Revenue Model: Subscription per seat ($99–$499/month), plus setup fees. Why 2026? Regulations and ESG reporting are only increasing, and companies want lightweight, mobile-friendly tools instead of enterprise bloat. 2. Field-Service Niche Apps (Vertical SaaS) Target: Contractors, property managers, solar installers, pest control. Problem: They juggle scheduling, invoicing, and technician accountability with paper or spreadsheets. App Idea: White-label dispatcher/work-order apps — mobile-first with GPS check-ins, photo uploads, and customer review capture. Revenue Model: SaaS ($199–$599/month per crew), with optional add-ons (e.g., storm data, weather alerts). Why 2026? The “vertical SaaS” wave is accelerating — niche-specific apps scale faster than broad platforms. 3. AI-Driven Micro-Learning App for Teams Target: Mid-sized businesses with distributed workforces. Problem: Training is expensive, clunky, and not engaging. App Idea: A mobile app that delivers 5-minute micro-lessons, quizzes, and AI-chat coaching tied to company SOPs or compliance. Revenue Model: Per-employee monthly fee ($10–$20/user).Why 2026? Corporate learning budgets are growing, and AI is making “just-in-time” training possible. 4. Client Intake + Workflow Automator Target: Service businesses (law firms, accountants, agencies, clinics).Problem: Intake forms and follow-ups are scattered across email, forms, spreadsheets. App Idea: A no-code app that unifies intake → auto-assigns staff → tracks status → sends branded updates to clients. Revenue Model: Setup fee + monthly subscription ($249–$799/month).Why 2026? SMBs want automation without paying for Salesforce or HubSpot.
