Having trouble navigating herein, but that's no surprise. 75 years old, 20-year old Lenovo laptop running Windows 10 uprgrade from Windows 7 w/Classic Shell, connected to an Iphone 7, whatever in the heck all that means. It functions well, but I stay away from 'appa' and other intracacies of the digital world. The 'good story' I promised is circa 1994-1995 at my first job as a LSW after returin ning fron UNLV-Reno, Columbus, Ohio Rosemont Center, a sprawling 40 acre complex for SBH students from every school in the district. Brick cottages where students lived, full classrooms w/mental health stafff, psychiatrist, psycoloists, and other so-called professionals. There were a dozen of us or more at a large table deciding who whould run which "group" for students. such as anger managment, "following the rules", and others I can't recall now, all oriented towards psychopathology. I suggested a group for "character development". The whole room went quiet; like the commercial for E.F. Hutton used to be. Then the psychiatrist asked me point blank--what are you talking about? Where did you get your training?? Everyone was dumfounded that I would suggest a group for understanding and developing good character traits like honest, courage, persistence, kindness, leadership, etc. I was not given permission to form such a group since it was designated irrelevant. No kidding, go figure, huh? I had many adventures in my year there that were astounding and indicative of a psychological system that did not have a model anywehre for "posoitive mental health" the DSMIV or whatever version was in play ONLY lists pathology. My question is; if there's no model for postive mental health, what do kids have to aspire to? Who are their heroes?? @Justin Peach Yeah, that's why I'm done w/so-called "modern mental health treatment" Big phrama makes millions getting everyone addicted to something, and now they have pills for very young children that can destroy their spirutral chances, along w/all the other 'progressive moral values that make Sodom and Gomorrah blush. It is truly a crime against future generations and the individual child.
