My first day dashing. I gotta vent
Seems it’s pretty slow on here but I gotta run my first day by you guys. So I have never done any gig type work and I actually used my car because my bike bag is not here yet otherwise I’m ready to go with my Xmax. I even have motorcycle and car loaded on dd. So this is how it went. I did 9 deliveries and the bad thing is I had to unassign 2 more. I was dashing for 4 hours. I made 58. But I missed out on another 10 dollars. I’m hoping it gets better for me when I know the ins and outs. My acceptance rate was almost 100% and now I’m wondering if I should have passed on the couple 2-4.00 orders. Even though they were only 2-3 mile drives they seem to take time and maybe if I don’t take them I’ll get a better offer? My very first order was a 12.00 one so that was cool. I don’t think I waited more than a couple min before getting an offer. Now to the two unassigned orders. I didn’t know what else to do. One was I was picking up at a fast food place via drive thru and as I was pulling out I got another order for the same place and pulled back thru drive thru and they said they are now closed. So I tried messaging cust and dd and nothing happened with that so I called dd and an ai assistant basically wasn’t helpful so I had to unassign to get it off my phone screen it keep popping up. The second unassign was at a subway and it was for only cookies at like 8:45pm and the single worker inside said it would take 15min to bake them and this order was like 2 bucks. So I unassigned from that. I drove about 80 total miles counting all driving to and from the dash area. Any help or tips would be good. Thank you

Learning the app and rules comes with each delivery, learning your area takes time. There will be restaurants that are always delayed, ones that pack food with no thought to delivery especially on a motorbike. There are places I will reject no matter the price cause I know it'll be more than a 10 minute wait and its usually the more corporate places that wont start an order until the driver arrives. Ill say that Ive been doing delivery for 5 years and it has taught me more about patience than any other job or relationship.

Id like to get a better handle with multi-apping, how you all handle your acceptance ratings, delivery times, etc.
