“Is fearr Gaeilge bríste ná Béarla cliste.” 🇮🇪 The translation is: “Broken Irish is better than clever English.” Or in Spanish: “Mejor irlandés imperfecto que inglés perfecto.” I love this saying because I think it applies to any language. The idea is simple: It is better to try to speak, even if you make mistakes, than to stay silent waiting to speak perfectly. And honestly, this is exactly how language learning works. You don’t become fluent by waiting until you’re ready. You become fluent by speaking before you feel ready, making mistakes, learning from them, and trying again.
