I noticed on the calendar that this week a lot of the session times are flagged with Spanish-speaking instructors, and lo and behold @Ramón Otazú led the session at 7 AM PT this morning, with me, @Michael Buckley, and @Chris Fernandez in attendance. It was great getting to know Ramon, and the conversation was quite lively, running from processes for learning Spanish to cooking shows on TV to blowtorches! Looking forward to more sessions with Ramon and the other instructors!

Hola a todos Me preguntaba cual otros idiomas hablan ustedes? Yo hablo ingles como lengua materna, pero yo sé un poco de arabe y somali. Y ustedes?

Today I ran into Gabriel at the gym. I said, “¡Hola hermano, ¿Como va?”. (How’s it going, brother.) He said, “Todo bien. Es bueno verte.” (It’s all good. Good to see you). I responded, “Igualmente.” (Same.) We fist pumped and went in different directions. A year ago I told him I was gonna speak to him in Spanish no matter how bad it sounds. I didn’t even know him prior to that. We talk at length sometimes and he doesn’t care that I’m not very good he’s just happy to be talking in his native tongue. I’m much better now than a year ago because I started removing the fear of speaking in Spanish. What fears do you have and have you confronted them confidently?
