Why Yawning is Not Rude
🫁 YAWNING IS ADVANCED BREATHWORK Most people think yawning means you’re tired, bored, or being rude. What if it’s actually one of the body’s most intelligent healing mechanisms? A yawn is a natural nervous system reset. It creates a deep inhalation, followed by a long exhalation or sigh, helping release tension from the jaw, face, neck, diaphragm, and nervous system. Ever noticed how good a deep yawn feels? That’s because the body is reorganising itself. Yawning increases oxygen intake, stimulates the brain, mobilises the jaw, activates the vagus nerve, and helps shift the body from stress into a more regulated state. Many people experience spontaneous yawning during Breathwork, Fascial Maneuvers, meditation, healing sessions, and moments of emotional release. Why? Because the body is letting go. The yawn mechanism is linked to deeper regions of the brain involved in regulation, awareness, and state change. It helps transition the body from one state to another and can increase alertness, focus, and information processing. Have you ever been listening to someone speak and suddenly started yawning? Society often labels this as rude. In reality, your nervous system may be relaxing enough to absorb more information. The body is opening. The breath is deepening. The system is regulating. Yawns often come with sighs. Sighs often come with relief. Relief often comes with healing. So next time a yawn arrives, don’t suppress it. Welcome it. The body knows what it’s doing. Nose vs Mouth Breathing: The Truth Nobody Explains & Why the Exhale Is So important
The way you breathe out can influence your nervous system, heart rate, energy, and emotional state within seconds. When you breathe in, your heart rate naturally speeds up slightly. When you breathe out, your heart rate naturally slows down. This is one reason why extending the exhale 2x the length of the inhale can help create a greater sense of calm and safety in the body. A slow exhale through the nose is generally more calming and regulating. It’s a great tool for stress, anxiety, recovery, meditation, and sleep. A slow exhale through the mouth can be more releasing. Think of the natural sigh of relief after a stressful day. It can help discharge tension and encourage the body to let go. Neither is right or wrong. They are simply different tools for different outcomes. Want to calm the system? Try a slow nasal exhale. Want to release tension? Try a slow mouth exhale. A simple practice: Breathe in for 4 seconds. Breathe out for 8 seconds. Repeat for 30–60 seconds and notice what changes. The inhale charges the system. The exhale settles the system. The longer the exhale, the stronger the signal of safety. When the Fascia is Release Magic Happens 😳😜 Today I had the honour of guiding Lucy @lucylou1905 through a Full Body Fascial Reset. In these photos, we released the fascia through the right arm, shoulder, and upper body first. The result? The arm became noticeably longer. Not just a bit, it was completely different I opened the fascia in the hands first of all, then the arm pull, using counter rotation and the breath to help create space, so the fascia could be set free. Simply releasing the restrictions held within the fascia, we unwound the tension and the fascia was freed Over time, stress, trauma, injuries, repetitive movement, and emotional tension can cause the fascia to tighten and pull the body out of alignment. The shoulders rise. The jaw tightens. The neck stiffens. The body compensates. Once the fascia begins to unwind, and through pressure and counter rotation it is like a spring that is pulled back & let loose. Thebody naturally returns to balance. After I obviously had to then rebalance the opposite side and brought both arms back into alignment. Seeing truly is believing. This is why we work on the fascia, it is a key component of any self healing practice & in my opinion needs to be taken seriously as a whole new paradigm of healing. Psoas Release pt 2 Advanced Facial Maneuvers
Human Garage PSOAS RELEASE, PART 2 ADVANCED ORGAN Reset & FASCIA RELEASE This is a deeper layer of the work. Advanced Psoas and organ release is not about force… it’s about listening, feeling, and allowing the body to guide you. We now move from simple pressure… into fascial pull–push flow. Start here: Come into your lunge position as before. Locate the same ileocecal valve area. Pin the tissue g with your fingers, create pressure Now begin to explore: Pull up on the right Push down on left Rotate the breath creating a circular flow of energy through your intestines and organs. Move slowly in different directions, if needed. There is no fixed position, we need to get the energy flowing, opening the fascia in all directions, move breathe and flow. You are opening the fascia in all directions, use the hands to pull, push & pin & lock in all directions Bring attention to the breath: Use a Rebirthing-style breath Breathe in for 5 Out for 3 Pushing the breath around in clockwise direction, helping to unblock any stagnant energy. Deep inhale… soft, continuous exhale… no pauses. Let the breath move through your belly. Around the bowels and intestines. Feel the internal pressure begin to circulate. Now connect the body: Psoas → Large Intestine Large Intestine → Psoas Then explore: Liver → Gallbladder Gallbladder → Gut Move into the belly button space. Work into the bladder region. Open the fascia chains. Let the body unwind. Feel into your system: Where do you need to breathe? Where do you need to move? Your body will show you. Let your innate intelligence guide you.
