What if your body isn't failing you... it's just waiting to feel safe?
I want to introduce you to someone. In the framework I've built my work around — the 5 States of Rest — the first state is the one I see most. I call them the Rooted One. This isn't a personality type. It's a state the body moves into when it's been holding too much for too long. And know this... you might sense yourself in all five states, but most people have one that's most familiar. (I've been in a place where safety felt impossible to believe. I know what it's like to feel truly betrayed by your own body. And I also know what it feels like to come home to it again.) Let me introduce you to the Rooted One. They don't feel lazy. They feel disconnected from themselves. Sleep doesn't fully restore them. They're exhausted but wired. They keep trying to think their way out of something that actually lives in the body. Just sit with that for a moment. Your body has been working so hard to protect you. That's not failure, but your body asking to come home.

I have some trauma and have had EMDR treatment. I still have to remind my body that I am safe every day. Yoga Nidra is a way for me to do this. Daily practice improves my sleep and dissolves physical tension. I feel more grounded a present in my body. If I feel too activated to rest I often do TRE to shake out the stress. If I don't practice Yoga Nidra regularly my sleep quality gets worse and I can start to dissociate from my body more. My body will feel tense and I will have more hormonal issues (PMS). Yoga Nidra makes my body feel safe and these symptoms go away. I have better connection to my body than before.

✨ Your 5 States of Rest archetype is landing in your inbox TODAY! ✨
Go check your email, Nova Nidra family... your results are on their way at 11am PT! (in 40 Minutes) A few things to keep in mind as you receive them: The state you got reflects the state that was most dominant when you took the quiz. Think of it as a mirror showing you where your system is resting right now... not a permanent label, just an honest reflection of this moment. So don't overthink it. Receive it. Sit with it. Then come back here and share: 👉 Which state did you get? 👉 What landed for you? What surprised you? We'll be exploring these States of Rest more together over the coming months. For now, let your state breathe with you. 🌿 Can't wait to see what comes up in the comments!

The Rooted One 🌿❤️ This resonates deeply with me
Who's tired of being tired... 💙
You've slept. You've rested. You've tried. And you wake up... carrying the same weight you went to bed with. Your body is tired but dropping in isn't happening! There's a low hum of desire that never quite turns off. So close... Jaw clenched. Shoulders up. System on. You would if you could, but you can't! This is what happens when the body learned that rest wasn't safe... and kept holding you up long after the threat was gone. Let's be real... 'tryin' isnt working. You have already 'tried' everything. You need your nervous system to get a signal it may have never received: it's safe to land now. That's what I work with. This week I'm introducing something I've been building for a long time... the Five States of Rest. A monthly practice membership where we go deep into each state, one at a time, with Yoga Nidra designed for exactly where you are. More on that tomorrow. SHARE BELOW | where does your body hold the most tension? I read every one.

Your body has been trying to tell you something...
Maybe not in a dramatic way or with big symptoms or obvious signals. Just quietly... A heaviness that doesn't lift after a good night's sleep. A tension that's become so normal you've stopped noticing it. A low hum of 'I'm fine' that you repeat mostly to yourself. The next few weeks, I'm exploring with you what I call the States of Rest... Five phases of human experience... oscillating states that show up in the body before they show up in our awareness. The first one is the one seen most often... It's a nervous system that's been bracing for so long it's forgotten what it feels like to land. In a few days, I will share more with you about how we experience this state. SOMATIC CHECK-IN | Before you scroll or get pulled way: put one hand on your chest. Take one breath. Does your body feel like a place you want to be right now? No right answer. Just notice. Drop A WORD below that describes how your body feels today. I'll be reading every one.
