Belief plays a huge role in achieving personal success. Gradually over time you build skills that amplify what you could previously do and that gives you the confidence to try something new. Over time the belief will encounter challenges and a need to grow or pivot. These setbacks create resilience and a pattern recognition skill that let you go deeper and deeper into mastery. 👁️🪬

Just started learning this from one of my favorite songs probably of all time. I love polyphia and know a few of their riffs but it’s a goal of mine to learn an entire song front to back note for note

Bach
Haven’t posted in awhile mostly due to the all consuming business that is college especially as I prepare for upcoming graduate school auditions. Wanted to share the Bach and its progress which has been steady these past couple of weeks. Always struggle with this one but think I’m finally getting it down haha

@Ashton Edwin wow I did not know that about Kyle. You know what I just noticed for the first time the other day is the similarities between latin(flamenco) and classical. They are oddly similar but the emphasis on certain aspects such as tone and legato in classical as to percussive hits and exotic strumming techniques in Latin guitar. Both of these styles HEAVILY influenced the sub genres of metal and so it’s cool to think tenacious D has classical roots and people like Synyster Gates from Avenged Sevenfold has more Spanish roots. Both awesome and heavy, but totally different fingerprints

@Ashton Edwin I could see why flamenco could be perceived as bad from a classical perspective. It’s the same as Frank Zappa watching Kurt Cobain play guitar, it’s just caveman 😂 But in all seriousness I like the style of both and have respect for both types of players.
Welcome to Melody! (START HERE)
This is a shared music practice, not a course or a challenge. Melody works because the rhythm stays the same while the experience changes every week. Each sound becomes memorable. Here’s the rhythm: - Each week, I’ll post one prompt - You’ll make one small piece of music (30–60 seconds is perfect) - You can share it here or keep it private - Miss a week? Rejoin the next. No catching up. The goal isn’t improvement on a graph. It’s staying in relationship with music while life is actually happening. This isn’t about: - perfection - lessons - hacks - pressure It is about: - showing up - finishing small things - using music to pay attention to your life If you’re new, your only job this week is simple: 👉 Read the prompt. Make something small. That’s it. Glad you’re here. Let’s practice together 🎼
