TO PITCH OR NOT TO PITCH?
LinkedIn tells you to connect to new contacts by doing the following DM like this: “Great to connect, thanks for connecting.” And I get it. It’s polite. But I’m running an experiment. What happens if you stop warming people up for 5 messages… and you just tell the truth in message one? Something like: “Hey, I build communities that actually move. If you’re building one (or about to), I can help. heres the link” Some people will hate that. Some people will respect it. Some people will ignore it. But at least it’s honest. And it gets you to the outcome faster. Because here’s the reality: Most people aren’t scared of pitching. They’re scared of being rejected.
