It's been a while
Evening all, I hope that you have all had a great Christmas and your enjoying the holidays. I live on the Essex/Suffolk border, I am also a Police cadet instructor and have a valid DBS and vetted to a heightened level, played in goal from the age of 5 to now, if there is anyone thats wants a bit of extra coaching, DM me. Happy new year to you all.
Getting Torn Apart By your Coach
Guys, i was concerned when i read the below post by @Rachael Holmes - so i thought i would do a short video to not only help Rachael, and Jaxon, but as i know sadly most of you in this community will go through a similar experience - thought i would record to help you. IF YOU HAVE GONE THROUGH SOMETHING SIMILAR - WHAT DID YOU DO ? PLEASE COMMENT BELOW 👇 I am beyond angry. I am devastated! I’m shaking as I write this because I cannot understand how ONE person - one adult - can inflict so much emotional damage on an 11-year-old boy. My son used to be full of light. He lived and breathed goalkeeping. He had passion, hope, fire - this beautiful spark that made him feel unstoppable. And now? Now he’s a shattered version of himself. He’s drowning in self-doubt, questioning everything he used to love. He genuinely believes he’s not good enough to be a goalkeeper anymore. An eleven-year-old child should never feel that way. And what breaks me the most is that the very people who were supposed to protect him, guide him, nurture him, DEVELOP him - the ones he trusted - are the same ones who tore him apart. His so-called coach, the one who promised him the world, who stood in front of him telling him how “amazing” he was… that same man turned around and ripped him to pieces that no one else saw. How can someone build up a child with one breath and destroy him with the next? Does he even realise what he’s done to my son? No. He doesn’t. And he carries on with his life as if nothing happened. As if he hasn’t left an 11-year-old boy picking up the broken pieces of his confidence. The damage is done, and he doesn’t give a damn. And everyone around him still supports him and praises him and we are classed as pests, a nuisance and causing trouble! Meanwhile, I’m left watching my son crumble. My heart aches - physically aches - for my boy. And I don’t know how to bring his spark back. 😭 For the first time in over two years, he refused to go to goalkeeper training. He said, “I can’t dive… I’m not good enough… the other boys are better, so what’s the point?” Hearing those words from a child who used to throw himself around the pitch with joy and bravery tore something inside me.

To rebuild your confidence in himself isn't going to be easy, but slowly and surely with an amazing amount of positive reinforcement in everything they do, is a start. To try and remind him that in his case there is no I in team, and he cant win a match on his own, he is alone in the goal, but there are 10 other players on the pitch, so conceding isn't solely his fault. Because he is part of a team and it doesn't matter whether the team wins, loses or draws, they all, win, lose or draw and remid him that his coach is predominantly at fault as he is the coach, and he has been taught and supposedly learnt how to coach, teach and safeguard everything football. Because the clubs dont care about safeguarding, the governance should be stricter, we are there to support the kids, to make it a safe space, we are their to protect, nurture and coach the young and vunerable. I hate and dispise idiots that call themselves coaches, you dont deserve the position if your going to loose it. I'm so sorry that you both had to go thought that, I would make a complaint to your local FA and seek advice from your local police service, as verbal abuse has no place in society, to start Personally, to show the person that he has no right to talk to anyone like that.

Well done young man
Update
I know I'm going to get a load of backlash for the following, this evening was the first wear of my gloves, I have'nt used or had any experience with j4ksports gloves, as advised I washed the glives through with luke warm water and to dry naturally until this evening, no glove glue was used, only water and good old natural spit. I'm sorry to say, they had as much grip as a new frying pan, I would class myself as a pretty good keeper with the experience and knowledge of how to dampen a shot and take the ball to ground, every shot tonight was paried because there was no adhesion, ball to glove, has anyone else used these gloves and had a different experience. Maybe its the design of the palm and latex, I will try again. Just to say that i am tottally transparent, and not negative about the glove or brand, I have brought another pair of gloves with a smooth palm.

Glove reveiw
Gloves arrived today, a signed for package, good start. Opened up, 1st impressions look good, nice colour, nice bag, each glove in its own little bag. Gloves are a little tight, I would go a size bigger, next time. I wasnt impressed about having to cut down and insert the finger spines, I would prefer factory fit. As for grip there wasnt any straight out of the bag, bir of water and some glove glue, Im hopeful they will become grippier, we shall see ove the weekend or on match day.
