Interpretation of gravitational time dilation
Hi, for the past few days I have been researching a bit about relativity to understand how gravitational time dilation conciliates with the idea that time dilation happens due to the idea that traveling through space makes us travel slower through time in a symmetric way. My research seems to indicate that gravitational time dilation happens because when a body is stationary under the effect of gravity (e.g: sitting on a table), space is actually flowing through the body, achieving the same effect as if the body itself was moving through space. (This interpretation comes from what is known as "The river model of general relativity") This means that time dilation in general relativity has the exact same cause as in special relativity. I'm not sure about that but it really makes sense to me, I would like to ask if you guys have the same interpretation about that and if you have seen that idea in other places as well, like from Bashar or from the alchemical manual. https://youtu.be/DjwQsKMh2v8?si=5sdUqieCwQsaAIN0
