Happy Thanksgiving
If you’re celebrating Thanksgiving today, I hope you’re spending it with people you love. And even if it’s just a regular Thursday for you, I wanted to take a moment to say thank you for being part of this community. I’m so grateful for everyone in the Pet Photographers Collective. The questions you ask. The ideas you share. The way you show up for each other. And I really feel like that ao many of you have turned from “people on the internet” into actual friends. Thank you for the energy you bring. Thank you for the support you give each other. Thank you for helping this space grow into something I genuinely look forward to every day. Whether today is a holiday or not, I appreciate you.

@Ina Jalil Thanks, Ina! I really appreciate that. I hope your day is going just as well did you get to spend it with family too, or are you keeping things low-key today?

@Ina Jalil Even if it’s just a normal day for you, I hope it’s a peaceful one. And honestly, having your dogs around still counts as family in the best way they bring a kind of comfort nothing else really matches.
🍁 Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! 🦃
Just wanted to take a moment to send gratitude to all of you. Whether we’ve connected through conversations, shared ideas, supported each other’s goals, or simply added a little positivity to someone’s day I’m grateful to be part of this community with you. Thank you for showing up. Thank you for growing, learning, and contributing. And thank you for being part of something meaningful. I hope today brings you good food, good energy, and moments of peace with the people (and pets!) who matter most. Wishing you all a warm and joyful Thanksgiving! 🍂❤️
How to Stay Profitable, Creative, and Ahead in 2025 - new Podcast episode with Annemie Tonkin
What if running your photography business didn’t feel like a constant hustle? In this week’s episode of The Pet Photographers’ Journal, I chat with Annemie Tonkin from This Can’t Be That Hard about how photographers can build businesses that actually work for them, not the other way around. We talked about: - Why the photographers who thrive long-term treat their business like an art form - How to create predictable income with a membership model (even if you do IPS) - How to protect your creative energy while growing your income - And how to use AI as a creative partner, not a replacement Annemie’s insights will change the way you think about sustainability, creativity, and success as we move into 2025. 🎧 Listen to the full episode on The Pet Photographers' Journal available on all podcast platforms. Click here to listen on Spotify or click here to listen on the desktop. One of the things that Annemie mentioned that she created is the Photo Elf and I encourage you all to check it out and sign up here. Use PHOTOELF25 discount code so that it is free (available until November 16 US time). 👇 I’d love to hear from you, what’s one area of your business you’d love to make more predictable next year?

@Ina Jalil This sounds like such a powerful episode thank you for sharing it! 🎧 I love the idea of treating the business side of photography as an art form too. It really shifts the mindset from just “trying to make it work” to creating something that reflects our own rhythm and values. The point about protecting creative energy really hit home for me it’s so easy to pour everything into client work and forget to refill that creative well. I’m definitely going to check out Photo Elf too; sounds like a great tool for streamlining things. For me, the area I’d love to make more predictable next year is client flow finding that balance between consistent bookings and still having room for passion projects. How about everyone else? What’s one part of your business you’d love to make more steady or sustainable in 2025? 💬
