📖 A Simple Bible Study Tip That Changes Everything One of the biggest mistakes I see is jumping straight to, “What does this verse mean to me?” Instead, start by asking: “What did this passage mean to the people who first heard or read it?” Before application comes understanding. Take a few minutes to notice: 🌿 Who is speaking? 🌿 Who are they speaking to? 🌿 What is happening in the surrounding verses? 🌿 Are there repeated words, commands, promises, or contrasts? When you slow down and observe the text first, you’re much less likely to take a verse out of context—and much more likely to discover what God is actually saying.
