Weekly Check-In: Week of May 18, 2026
Use this thread to report what happened last week and commit to this week. Keep it honest and specific. Short is fine. Even if your week was messy or slower than expected, post anyway. 1️⃣ What I Did Last Week What actions did you actually take? Focus on inputs, not intentions. Examples: conversations started, outreach sent, content posted, offer work completed. 2️⃣ What I Learned Anything you noticed from the market, from conversations, or from your own execution. Examples: feedback you received, objections you heard, what worked and what did not. 3️⃣ What I'm Committing to This Week Be specific and measurable. Examples: reach out to 50 people, post 5 pieces of content, finalize offer description, run a small ad test. 4️⃣ Where I Might Need Feedback Optional but helpful. Flag what you want eyes on so the right people can respond. Examples: messaging, offer clarity, outreach approach. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Example Check-In Week 1 of Launch Sprint What I did: finalized offer description, created payment link, reached out to 35 contacts. What I learned: most people understood the problem but not the outcome. Need to make the result clearer. This week: reach out to 100 contacts, start 20 conversations, test a revised offer description. Feedback needed: would appreciate thoughts on clarifying the result I provide.

@Roman Moschitta Hey, Roman! Awesome reply, thank you!! Oh, I'm definitely close- I have two problems (prefer the word "challenges"): 1 More chicken than most 2 Serious tech challenges Okay- you said- use real maps? You mean something like, embedded google maps? I've tried for many moons to figure out the tech side of mapmaking-- and I've never mastered it- nothing but a source of frustration and tears- even though I'm pretty techy!!! Next challenge: I've hired people on fiverr to execute files- create pdfs for the downloads, but that is stuck in limbo- I haven't been able to send them ready docs to work with. There's money tied up there, which is just crazy. I have hired someone to set me up in Systeme dot io, it's the platform that can host everything seamlessly, for the lowest cost: -host blog/ website -host downloadable files -run email subscribers/nurture campaign -complete order cycle, including order forms, payment gateway/s Paying for but unused for at least a couple of weeks: Claude (keeping this-- has every manuscript, hundreds of files) Systeme - paying first tier, allows email campaign to be launched Fiverr - hired So- my priority for this week includes setting folks up in Fiverr (already contracted, I don't know if I can undo) This will create a downloadable lead magnet. Could I do that myself? I honestly don't think so- I'm really going for a quality product/ company. As always, there are a gazillion tasks, and I can't do everything, especially something that will have a learning curve/ take time- that's already happening, with most tasks.. Currently, the lead magnet is just the copy. And: if this looks like a long list of "I can't"- which it is, lol!, please know that I put up a good fight every day, and valiantly attempt to work my way through said challenges.. I don't know why I'm always falling short, Roman- although when I look around, there's only me.. :)

Attempting to refine my Day 1 post: Audience has been identified for months, I have all the stats, and even the structure for the content. I also have the business model, I think I put that already: free lead magnet - email nurture - paid guide / repeat with more guides This isn't where I'm stuck: where I have been stuck, for weeks now-- is to produce the actual content- that is, to finalize the copy for the lead magnet, which could probably be considered 99 percent done. To get that to the person who will formulate it in an attractive and useful pdf. The same is try for the content for the first paid guide. I'm lost in the content- it is what I need to work on. The other piece that his broken- is getting the setup completed in Systeme dot io. I have paid in Google Workspace, to have the domain name for the company email. The name is A Modern Pilgrim. I pay for other services as well. The idea is modeled to be similar to Lonely Planet- with a specific focus on an (older) audience (my own age group, for relevance), interested in slow travel and cultural experiences. It isn't necessary to focus specifically on pilgrims (in the name of a more refined niche), for 2 reasons: I'm not one (and I'm not interested in posting exclusively from this viewpoint), and the other is that the full overlap of the content- there is no reason therefore, to reduce or restrict the audience further. I have a ton of content, and can't find my way out of the woods. I need to identify what needs to happen, for the way forward: 1. Find all the content for the first lead magnet (I have more than one). 2. Find all the content for the first paid guide. 3. Decide how to refine this content into downloadable files. 4. Complete the steps for emails to be collected and send from systeme. 5. Give this task to the person I hired in Fiverr, except I'm having a horrible time with that. Please know, that the stuckness fro me, isn't about getting started--- I'm well into the project. It's about finding my way through and out to a completed file or files, that could be emailed to a customer- that's where I can't get my head, it seems..

Thank you for this great welcome, and for the (pleasant!) surprise of a no-bs list of things to do!! I did the Day 1 post as a "Building" post, moving on to the next instructions. :) Proud titleholder- world's worst procrastinator, lol- Day I is usually something I can nail!! 😆
Product for market
Okay, so before I mess up Day 1 (by not doing it), here goes: Day 1 — Define the Offer: Identify the person you want to help, the problem they face, and the outcome your offer creates. This gets done today. Digital travel guides: downloadable PDFs, e-files Europe Focused on: slow travel, pilgrimages (not known to North American audience), history, culture, art What they are not: detailed, turn-by-turn, trail guides These are introductory to places and experiences people won't put together on their own. Something to purchase/ download at the travel interest/ planning stage More focused on "pleasure" points than "point" points. Pain points include poor planning, lack of knowledge on arrival at destination- definitely troubleshooting for these, and providing location-specific tips Audience: older, grown kids/retired, comfortable, can take extra time, not focused on saving money- but on experiences Business model: email/digital sales + website/ articles Funnel: Free lead magnet - paid guide - email nurture Much of the content is already created; I'm stalled on the tech side.
