🧵 UFO Rescue Mission! 🚀
Have you got an Un-Finished Object (UFO) hiding somewhere in your sewing room? 😊 We've all got them... those projects that started with great excitement and somehow found their way into a basket, drawer or cupboard! This weekend, instead of starting something new, why not choose just one unfinished project and spend 15 minutes with it. No pressure to finish it. Just find it, unfold it, admire how far you've already come... and perhaps stitch a seam or two. I'd love to see what resurfaces! 📸 Pop a photo in the comments—even if it's only a pile of pieces or a project bag. Every finished quilt was once an unfinished project. Let's encourage each other to give those forgotten projects a little love. 💛

I've spent the last 2 weeks working thru a container of scraps; sorting to use in the future, cutting into strips, 5" squares, etc. I'm almost to the bottom of the container. While doing it, I did your "roll" on batting. My UFO's are a whole story in themself! 😉

@Nancy York Look online for Susie's Magic Binding or Binding with a Flange. It is all done by machine, and sure beats hand stitching. I'd never finish anything if I had to handstitch the binding.
Sewing Scrappy Bits on a Roll
Thanks for accepting me into the group. I have been a long time follower of your videos on you-tube, and would send my friends to specific videos when they needed a tutorial. I remember when you were living on a narrowboat in England and sewing in a very small space. Yesterday, I went to the CLASSROOM tab and took a look at the video showing how you dealt with leftovers, and made scraps on a roll. I went out to my sewing room in the afternoon to do a little tidying up; and tackled a basket full of small pieces and scraps. I ended up making two very long strips of scraps on a roll; trimmed to 2 3/4 inches. I think I will do some more today and then write a blog post about the process. I am trying to figure out now, HOW will I use those scrappy strips.

I will be on a cruise, and we are stopping in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin. I'm not sure where in New Zealand you are. I am looking forward to seeing this beautiful country, and starting now to plan, even though it won't be until March 2028!

I've been quilting since 2008. I am retired. I enjoy working with scraps and doing machine embroidery. I live in Delaware, USA.
