She Lost Her Job… Then Started Working With Counties and Developers
Losing a W-2 job could feel like the end of the road. For @Denise Ford, it became the moment everything changed. In this episode of Leadership in Land, Denise shares how she went from rebuilding her life after job loss to creating a business designed around freedom, family, and travel. What started with land deals eventually grew into something even bigger when she began exploring manufactured homes and land-home packages. But the journey wasn’t smooth. There were partnerships that went sideways, deals that turned messy, and moments where she had to figure things out the hard way. Those experiences ended up teaching her how to handle development, work directly with counties and utilities, and ultimately build a new branch of her business. Now she’s combining land investing, manufactured housing, and future plans for storage projects, all while designing a business that supports the life she actually wants to live. This conversation is about more than deals. It’s about reinvention, smart growth, and building a business that gives you real freedom. 👉 Don’t just scroll. Level up. Here are the full resources and transcript.

@Peter Toth same!
The problem with most land events…
Most land events are built for information. But the real bottleneck for most operators isn’t information. If you’re looking for something different—and want to be around people actually having these kinds of conversations—we’ve got a small, intentional event coming up July 17th. You can apply here: www.landunconference.com I just love doing this stuff! It doesn't pay much at all in money, but it sure pays in what counts- relationships and memories. Check out the video that captures just a little bit of the experience!! But truly can't measure how awesome it is. After spending a few days with a small group of guys on a hog hunt, I was reminded of something… The biggest breakthroughs didn’t come from: - a speaker - a slide deck - or a new tactic They came from conversations like: - “Here’s where I’m actually stuck…” - “Here’s what’s not working in my business…” - “Here’s something I probably wouldn’t share in a bigger room…” And once one person goes there… everyone else follows. That’s when things change. One guy (or gal) shares a problem → someone else has already solved it One guy (or gal) admits something isn’t working → someone else reframes it One honest conversation → can be worth six figures+ in your business But here’s the catch: That only happens in the right environment. Not 300 people. Not surface-level networking. Not the same “what do you do?” conversation 20 times. It happens when: - the group is small - people feel safe being honest - and there’s enough time together to actually go deeper If you feel stuck right now, it’s probably not because you need more information. It’s because you need: - better conversations - better people around you - and a place where you can actually be honest about what’s going on That’s a big part of why we’ve been building Leadership in Land—and why we host smaller, more intentional events. We’ve got another one coming up July 17th.

@Dave Denniston yes and our 22 year olds in their mom’s basement. It’s the new model. 🤭 give us tips on where to stay if you have a rec offhand.
Everyone has that deal… what’s yours?
What’s one land deal that changed the way you think about business or life? Not the biggest profit. Not the cleanest flip. But the deal that taught you something you didn’t expect---about people, patience, risk, or yourself. Sometimes one property… one seller conversation… or one mistake… can completely shift how you operate. Curious to hear your story.

5 Things the Danielson Sisters Do Differently in Land Investing
1️⃣ Their third deal changed their entire strategy A strangely shaped property revealed something they did not expect… subdividing land could be their niche. 2️⃣ They built a business on relationships, not mass marketing Realtors, surveyors, and even a bush hog guy have helped bring them deals. 3️⃣ Their team is surprisingly small Most of the business is still run by just the two sisters. 4️⃣ Subdivides are not always smooth It is often a cycle of hurry up… then wait… then hurry up again. 5️⃣ They refused to copy everyone else’s business model Instead of chasing volume, they designed a land business that fits their life and families. 🎧 In this episode with @Mary Ann Danielson and Anne Danielson share the real story behind their deals, their lessons, and why building the right business matters more than building the biggest one. 👉 Here’s the exclusive resources & transcript.
