The window has not closed. The noise has just gone up
I've seen a few posts lately from people wondering if it is still worth it. Here is what I keep coming back to. YouTube has 2.7 billion monthly active users in 2026. The average channel hits 1000 subscribers in around 15 months. Channels posting consistently and combining long-form with Shorts are growing 41% faster than those doing one format. Search content posted years ago is still delivering traffic today with zero maintenance. None of that sounds like a platform in decline. What is actually happening is a filter. Generic, surface-level content is getting harder to grow. Specific, experience-led content from people who actually know their subject is doing better than ever. If you are a professional who has spent years in your field, you have something that a 22-year-old with a ring light does not. That is not a small thing. I also think the comparison game is a big part of why people want to quit. Someone else's month six looks like your month one. But their month one looked exactly like yours. The research I have been looking at suggests the creator economy is now worth over $250 billion and still growing hard. The opportunity is not behind you. It is ahead of you if you keep going. What is the main thing making you doubt it right now?

I’m like a turtle I just slowly keep moving forward. I started uploading regularly in the Fall of 2023 gaining about 1000 subscribers yearly with a combination of shorts and long form videos totaling over 1000. I’ve considered quitting often but I just keep going. I’ve settled into a routine of one long from video weekly along with 2-3 shorts coming mostly from the long form. Occasionally I’ll add an additional long from video.
Why I'm posting regularly in this community
Contrary to popular belief, I'm posting in here to give back to both Alexa and this community. Even if no one likes or comments on the post, it really doesn't matter. I'm happy to share my knowledge and what I've seen work with both me and others! Since I've been on this platform, there's one community that has really helped me and also inspired me. And that's this one. In fact, it's Alexa's journey that encouraged me to leave my job to try to pursue content creation full-time. Would I have taken that path anyway? Probably. But her journey and her success definitely helped! @Dr. Saundra Stancil has also been so welcoming, and I appreciate the hard work she's putting in managing the community! From the bottom of my heart, I wish everyone the success they deserve with their YouTube channels! 👍

Now that’s what is called giving back!
Shorts
I’m in a FB group and in a resent chat regarding shorts someone shared a site that will take a long form video and segment it into serval shorts rating them. I’m trying the unpaid version so it has the watermark throughout the video “Clip.opus” Here’s the link to the video what are your thoughts on all of this? https://youtube.com/shorts/rEo-Gkyng_4?si=EgulymXGEG_1w7ug

I don’t use any prompts with OpusClip. I’ll have to check it out. I’ve been using ChatBox and ChatGPT but for me I like ChatBox best. Using either in my opinion is a great way to get started. Create yourself a couple of detailed prompts that you can cut and paste into it. I always introduce what I’m going to need for example, “I’m working on my next YouTube long form video…(description) then promote. I even ask for detailed ideas for my thumbnails. I use those ideas as a starting point in VidIQ’s thumbnail maker. I hope this helps. Software I use: Filmora pd ChatBox pd ChatGPT pd VidIQ pd Canva free VRA pd I’m also a member of 3 Skool groups, I have a FB page and tik tok I post my videos in as many places as the come out. I try to put out 2 long form videos weekly with shorts as a filler. Disclaimer: Don’t listen to me though I only have 2390 subscribers after over 2 years of posting regularly. I have over 900 plus videos posted. None as gone viral.
