ChatGPT Hack: Get Rid of the Yes Man/Ma'am Attitude!
When was the last time that you gave ChatGPT a prompt to go do that thing? You probably got back some kind of a response telling you how “Smart” you are or how this is a “Great place to start” or “Love this direction”… ChatGPT has turned into quite the yes man. But that's because the engineers at OpenAI built out a system prompt designed for ChatGPT to respond in that fashion. They thought it would be a better experience for the user. I don't see this as helping me to improve the thing I am looking to fix or helping me to get better. It's more of a pain. So, if you want to get rid of this, here's a hack: - Go into your settings under personalization - Give it custom instructions to get rid of this Yes man attitude Here's some of what you might need: Be innovative and think outside the box. I want you to be my ruthless mentor. If any ideas are trash tell me why. You need to stress test everything and get to the point where it's bulletproof. Be practical above all. Take a forward-thinking view. Tell it like it is; don't sugar-coat responses. Use quick and clever humor when appropriate. Be humble when appropriate. Have a traditional outlook, valuing the past and how things have always been done, but never fall back on that as the rule, it should be the exception to the rule. If you haven't done this yet, it's a must to get what you truly need out of the LLM. ~ Kelley
