Jooba Weekly #2
I really enjoyed the G6/9 chord in this week. At first I couldn't decide if I should play it in D or in G and had difficulties sticking to one key. I ended up liking my ideas in D better and just kept noodeling around. This is from my latest of these improv takes. I wish it was a bit more fluid, that I had been able to keep a more steady rhythm in between and that I had played cleaner. But I think I was able to catch my main idea. Plus I probably could have payed a bit more attention to the boundaries advice and restricted myself to less different melodies. It's possible this would have made it more rounded. Looking forward to hearing your feedback and to seeing all of your uploads - excited to see in which direction the chord has taken you all.

Hi Jay, Some really strong and sweet melodic ideas in here (in particular from about 2 mins onwards) - nice !
Sharing some original music
Hi Jooba People, I set myself a challenge at the start of 2025 to see if I could write some original songs and the time has come to share it (tentatively as I am a hobbyist not a pro musician). I have to say, it's opened up a whole new world of interest and motivation to play music and Jooba people has been a great source of inspiration and creative ideas throughout this journey (chord collections, indie course, music theory course etc etc). So massive thanks to Jaco for creating this wonderful resource ! The album is called Human in the Landscape and it's just me singing and playing acoustic guitar (blend of indie /pop/ folk) recorded at home. Jaco has given me his blessing to share with the community. Hope you enjoy it and in turn it gives you some motivation and inspiration on your own musical journey. Please share with like minded people as every little helps in warming up that Spotify algorithm 🀣. https://open.spotify.com/album/5n5lLhmD2p3ByPbj5Ua6en?si=loXYooykRBCDs04gt7Jqyg Thanks Mark

Hi Jay, It feels like the start of something new and exciting as for me, it's a big step to start to share and play my own music to the wider world ! I'm going to write another album and also thinking a picking a few songs and doing a full band arrangement which I will then release as an EP. ... and of course playing live as much as I can as this is for me where the real magic is Thanks for taking the time to listen

Hi Jay, Thanks again for taking the time to listen and the feedback. I think a few of the songs would get a lift from some harmony vocals and also layered guitars. I dabbled a bit with that but in the end resisted the temptation ... for now !
