Lessons from the Chinese Bamboo plant
There’s something I come back to often… especially on the days when progress feels slow. It’s the story of the Chinese bamboo tree 🌱 For four years… nothing seems to happen above the ground - No visible results.Just soil. But underneath?A deep, strong root system is being built. And then in the fifth year…🌿 it grows up to 80–90 feet. Not because it suddenly decided to grow…but because it was ready. I think about this often in life… and in business. Sometimes it can feel like:💭 “Is this even working?”💭 “Am I doing enough?”💭 “Why is everyone else moving faster?” But what if…you’re just in your root-building season? ✨ The consistent learning✨ The showing up when no one is watching✨ The small steps that don’t feel like much None of it is wasted. It’s building something strong enough to support the life you’re creating. And here’s the part that really stays with me… If the gardener stops watering the seed…the bamboo never grows. 🌧️ Consistency matters🌱 Patience matters💛 Faith matters For anyone who feels like they’re “not there yet”… Please don’t quit in year four. Your breakthrough might be closer than you think. 👉 Tell me…What’s something in your life right now that you’re quietly growing?

Chemo Day
Prayer request please: We are on round 5 of 6 with Pop's Chemo today and I am finding it hard to put into words the anxt I am feeling at the moment. We have the fantastic news that Pop is in remission, we just need to get him through this stage of the treatment. I appreciate the prayers - Is there something that you could use an extra prayer said on your behalf? Add them to the comments and lets support each other. Sending out love to you all today.

Are You AWARER? That's The Story Behind A New Word ...
When I created DAfree (Domestic Abuse free), I realised something was missing from our English vocabulary: the distinction between 'aware' and 'unaware' is there, but we don’t have a word for the person in that state. So I created one: AWARER and UNAWARER Funny enough, not even AI and ChatGPT can cope with it and get confused 😂 So this is a real human story ❣️ AWARER and UNAWARER 👉 Not as labels 👉 Not to blame 👉 Not to frame someone as “victim” or “abuser.” But to describe a stage of understanding. In my criminology and academic research, I learned that many people do not want to be called victims: they prefer survivors. And that distinction matters. One acknowledges harm. The other honours resilience. Both can be true. On the other hand, no one likes to be framed as an abuser. Eventually, what matters most is awareness and the will to learn how we can connect with others without harming them with words. UNWARER is the starting point, not yet seeing the pattern. AWARER is the shift: recognising it. The shift toward responsibility. Toward respect. Toward informed decisions. Toward health, love, and connections free from control everywhere, not only strictly in the domestic context. UNAWARER became more than a new word. It became the emblem of DAfree, a journey from silence to clarity. Because once you see, you can choose differently. And that’s where freedom begins, not only for ourselves but also when supporting others, showing understanding. 💫 If you are still an UNWARER, become an AWARER to break the long-standing cycle of abuse and build a better future 🙏
