Been doing food prep for some time and with various trainers. @Dan Mowinski right on with kids - sometimes it futile when you still remain a home diner. Add basil metabolic rate and macro counts to make the effort more effective. The challenge for me is/was making too much/too little resulting in waste or inconvenient shopping, plus being pulled off track by impromptu social/client outings. Discipline and ways around that too.
