Hello! My name is Marissa and my family and I joined LinguaBLOX to study Spanish. We're a homeschooling family of 7. A few days ago we tried LinguaBLOX method and found it really fun and useful.
Hello all! sorry, im only signed up on my desktop, so I only check in so often. @Tony Marsh Thank you! I'm trying to get some house projects and some homeschooling things in order so that we'll have more time for Spanish practice.
@Fabio D'Oliveira Hello! I'm still playing around with different ideas but have decided to use 3 ideas: 1) Conversation Tennis (inspired by Tony Marsh). We literally stand on opposite sides of the dinner table like we're going to play ping pong and use Tony Marsh's Lingua BLOX print out sheets. Someone metaphorically "serves" by asking the person on the other side of the table a question from the sheet and the person on the other person answers and then "hits the ping pong back" by asking another question. We see how long the two people can keep this up. I eventually want to form a Spanish conversation homeschool co-op based on this kind method. 2) Recitations. I've been having the kids memorize Spanish scripts (turning YT videos into transcripts.) and reciting them out loud to us. You could do things like have them pretend to be cooking and explaining what they're doing in the target language, recite poetry, give a news broadcast etc. 3) Shadowing. Watching Spanish movies, shows, YT videos and shadowing aka repeating what the speaker says and trying to mimic how they say it. Still experimenting with all of this and hoping in the future to get a Spanish language co-op going in my area to give my kids social opportunities and ways to practice. Good luck to you on your child's education. Homeschooling can be hard work but very rewarding!
