Welcome! How far along are you in your skating journey?
Might practice at home
Hi everyone...I'm going to practice at home since it's cold out. What should I work on?

Paid the wood tax
Yall I paid the wood tax last week. I been trying to learn how to do turns both ways in traffic. Cuz just doing moves off on the practice side isn’t gonna cut it. Well..I did one and actually stuck it but then fell down anyway LOL! My coach was like “what happened? You had it and were going straight”. Idk I think I just got nervous. But now I’m not nervous anymore 😂 He told me that he is happy that I’m progressing to doing other things and one guy gave me a high five. Seriously though, I think the fall almost unlocked something in me. I’ll be back at it today.

Newbieee!🛼
Hey ya’ll! Complete beginner here—consider me a baby deer on wheels. Still shaky, still curious, and here to grow. Any guidance for a newbie is welcomed 🦌✨

Welcome! Go slow, start with the basics 💜
It's not just the falling that humbles you....
The amount of times I've thought that I understood a move.... I'm talking about studied it on repeat from multiple sources, multiple angles, dissected it, and thought I executed it correctly.... Only to realize months later that I understood only 25% of it, got 25% totally wrong, and still have another 50% of technicalities I didn't even consider now come across my radar.... Is unbelievable. The first time this happened, I was totally disheartened. It has happened many times now. I've come to realize it's part of the process.. And have learned to appreciate those moments of deeper understanding, and to let go of resentment over the need to backtrack in training. There's no timeline, and my progress is definitely not linear. But there is progress, and I'm grateful to be on this journey 🙏💜🛼

I hear you. It helps me to take a break from working on a skill to focus on something else for a while or fine tuning other skills and come back to it later. There’s a lot that your body learns in periods of rest too (which KJ has said several times). One day it will click.
