Weakness on one side
Hi all, I’ve gone right back to basics and realised doing forward and backward bubbles I’m not so strong on my left side and the rights doing the majority off the work. Tried to really focus on making sure my left foot was working as hard as the right and found bubbles suddenly really hard. Does anyone have any pointers on what I can do to even things out?

I hate to say it but it really is like that normally. Most people favor or are stronger on one side than the other. That’s why most skaters I have watched and try to learn from always tell you to make sure you practice on both sides. It really stinks too because we are new and it’s already hard enough getting it down pat on one side 😂 just gotta keep practicing!!
Drills?
How do you get the repetitions in so skills get into their muscle memory? Had crossovers and then today in the park I just couldn’t work out what my legs were meant to be doing? Should I start doing drills or do people recommend a better way Any help gratefully appreciated x

So I do drills but I mix things up so I’m not getting tired of doing the same thing over and over. But honestly there is really an order to learn so that you are using one skill to help learn the next skill. I had to like go back and start with the basics because I tried to do like crossovers and transitions before I was even comfortable with one leg balance. So saying that to say, get the basics down first. KJ has “before you can do this, do THIS” videos or just start with the 100 day school. But I find that when you learn a skill, you have to keep working on it and incorporate it each time you skate. I’m also a huge video/reel watcher and even if it’s just 15 minutes at home I will get up and get a little practice in and try to learn what I’ve watched.
Hello 👋
Hi there, I thought I should say hi and introduce myself before jumping on with a question So hi 👋 everyone, I’ve never posted a message in any kinda group online so I’m hope I’m doing it right and if not someone will kindly let me know I’m in the UK and got my first pair of quad skates a couple of weeks ago

Hi! Welcome!!
I took the workshop!
Counting this as a huge win for me. I went to the workshop but was super late because of traffic but I still went in. It was on musicality and transitions. So I watched a bit from the sidelines and I recognized someone there from the rink in Canada and our Borderline event. She got me out there rolling! Then by the end of the class I was able to freestyle a little. And check this .. I WENT IN THE MIDDLE! I couldn’t believe it. Me and this lady made a little simple routine and got out there 🥰❤️ so proud of me lol!
Truck adjustment
So I see all over about loosening/tightening trucks. But honestly I don’t know if I should or how they should feel. I just got the Roll Line Mistral plates and they have blue cushions (idk if they are all blue or not) but aside from that I don’t know what I’m looking for. Is it that they should be looser to turn better? Also remember I’m fairly new skater. Going into 6 months (woo hoo!) so take that into consideration whilst answering lol!

@Toi MissToi I’m only at month 6 myself. I know that if the trucks are too loose then you have to relearn balance. Definitely something to think about

@Toi MissToi honestly have no idea 😂 I wanted Roll Line didn’t want to spend as much on the Dance plates and felt like this would be a good middle ground. I don’t have anything to compare it to though because I’m coming from a nylon Gorilla plate. I know it has either a) made things easier like turns and pivots or b) I have just gotten a little better at skating or a little bit of both 😂 But it’s def a different feel than my nylon plates.
