Products make you more money than speaker fees
Think of this: it’s gonna take you five years of speaking experience to get to a $10,000 speaker fee. However. If you use speaking as a lead generator, you can fairly well calculate what you can get paid to speak. Let me give you a firsthand example My speaker fee is $5000 MC for a day or $10,000 for a keynote My last MC event got canceled. It was supposed to be on the 12th. I ran an event last month. We had 12 people in the room. We had a 30% closing rate. Total revenue is $4818 Typically, my closing rate for my ideal audience is between 30 and 75%. That’s with a hard pitch (meaning we share the price of a product upfront and people buy in the room). Pretty much the same as my speaker Fee for a day of emcee work. We just got two more clients this week outside of the event. Both were referrals. Another $3528 in revenue. And I wasn’t even on stage. That’s about $8346 in the last 28 or so days with one stage and two referrals. Here’s why this is possible: the way I get paid to speak, happens through my products, more frequently and long before a $10,000 speaker fee. Don’t think you have a product? Think again. You have your time. Do you have your expertise. You can teach what you know and get paid to do it. Start with one on one Coaching Then when you’re full of one on ones, create a group coaching system Once you detect the patterns of what people are asking for repeatedly and the questions you keep answering, you create a course based around that. Now you have digital courses you could sell. If you need help with this, let me know in the comments.
