I kid you not, a man I met at a singles mixer last Fall asked me point blank if I was open to being a “sister wife.” Even after so many years of meeting various men, I still clearly need better discernment. I sincerely ask Allah that 2026 is the year that I meet normal, practicing, decent men. Reflecting on all of my past lessons, I am ready to commit to accountability. The biggest boundary I need to work on is putting boundaries on my time. Establishing clear limits over my time. Allah SWT controls time, we don’t, and I must admit I did not value time that much in my past. I am beginning to understand that when we value our time, Allah values us, because Allah oversees time. I’m improving first and foremost by seeing my role in all of my past experiences. When you know better you do better. I am certain when I show up as the type of Muslimah who values her time and her autonomy, it will get easier to meet aligned potentials.
