For now
My brother wrote this to his children and I wanted to share this thought with you…”A friend of mine who is younger than I am passed away recently. It was very unexpected, and it's weird to think that his wife, who is also younger than I am, is a widow. When I heard the news that morning, I thought of how sad that is. Almost immediately, I feel like the Spirit helped me with two simple words - for now. Because of the hope that we have through the Savior of life after death and of a glorious Resurrection, death is sad, for now. Eventually, we will be reunited with that person that we love in ways that will be a blessing to us forever. This doesn't just apply to death. I think about just about any challenge that we face in life, and we can say that it's hard, for now. We also know that we will someday get a chance to leave behind all the challenges of this life that are both physical and mental. It is comforting, especially as we approach the Easter season, to remember that all sadness and challenge that we face are all temporary because of the Savior and what He did for us.”

The Savior’s "Second" Gift
We often think of the Atonement as a "spiritual eraser" for when we mess up. But it’s also a "spiritual anchor" for when we are hurting. Jesus Christ didn't just carry our sins; He carried our sorrows, our sicknesses, and our loneliness. You don't have to be "perfect" to access His strength—you just have to be His. And you always are. I couldn’t make it through this life without His dependability, reliability, sustainability and His true devotion to me. What a powerful example you are to me.
Discussion Question: Exactness Without Edges
The Law of Moses was a "schoolmaster" meant to point us toward Christ. He didn't lower the bar of the law; He moved it from stone tablets into our hearts. Living the law is no longer just about what we do, but who we are while we are doing it. Discussion Question: How does your motivation change when you view a commandment as a tool for personal transformation rather than just a rule to be followed?

For me it is all about the becoming. If I do something just because it is a commandment, it has less incentive than if I do it to create a better character
The Alchemy of Kindness
Kindness is a superpower that can deflect anger and change the atmosphere of a room. When we meet "stiff" energy with a soft answer, we break the tension. Being "coachable" by the Lord means being willing to soften our response even when we feel we have the right to be angry. For the full devotional, visit The Daily Joy Journal in Classroom.

And it helps you stay in control…control of the situation and yourself
The Teachable Heart
Proverbs encourages us to be teachable and coachable. Being "coachable" by the Lord means trusting His schedule more than our own. If we are rigid with our deadlines, we miss the lessons found in the waiting. Are you willing to let the Master Teacher adjust your timeline today? Patience is often the hardest attribute most of us to learn to master, but it is in the waiting that we learn to trust and experience the things to help prepare us for what the Lord has in store for us. Even though, I don’t like to wait…I know it is necessary for me to grow, improve and refine. Good thing, we have the Lord and each other to get us through
