First of all, Im sure the coach in that video is a good guy, seriously, I do, but this is one of MANY examples from him of just straight up bad coaching! To comment on the original video, yes, players do cross their feet, but your first instinct should be to slide your feet in a stance. Once the player starts to beat you and get by, then you turn your hips and run, and to cut them off you do the 1-2 footwork he showed. But he is showing to do that as your first instinct, which makes very little sense. I also saw him do an interview reacting to the reaction of many, and he claimed that the video was taken out of context, and thats true, but thats because he didn't give the necessary context to begin with, thats on him. He posted another video recently where he incorrectly taught how to post up AND in a different video, was putting his hands on the kids neck super aggressively That's just bad coaching no matter what. This guy has BEEN coaching poorly for a while, so can we as a basketball community please stop giving this guy passes and excusing his behavior?
