Calisthenics: The Ultimate Path to Mastery 💪
There's something incredible about using nothing but your body to create strength, control, and impressive skills. In my opinion calisthenics isn’t just a workout—it’s a way of mastering your body and pushing your limits. 🙌 I’m just starting this journey, but I’m already hooked. The idea of being able to hold a perfect planche, do muscle-ups, or flow through a clean handstand push-up is beyond exciting. What’s crazy is how impressive this stuff is. Like, the kind of things people see and go, “How is that even possible?” 🤯 That’s the level I want to reach, and I’m so pumped to be on this journey with all of you! Now I'm curious: What skill or move are you currently working on? Or, if you’ve been in the game for a while, what’s your best tip for a beginner/intermediate like me?

Bro, definitely it feels like that. You can see at the gym some big guys, but control your own body like it's nothing and do crazy skills that seems like gravity doesn't exist, that's just another level 🔥.
Restarting after rest days
As I combine both gym and calisthenics, I gave myself a small rest of 1 week , I feel like my that progress is not upto the point with current progress. I am feeling like pullups are not that easier that I felt before

@Harsh Patel so, you added a little weight to your bodyweight exercises??
Progressive overload
Weighted calisthenics is getting really popular right now, and I get it because it’s easy to progress. But there are other ways to increase the intensity, for example by slowing the eccentric motion or holding at the stretched position etc. and I was wondering what’s better for Skills in the long run what do you guys think

@Reda Belakhdar Even some gymnasts lift weights. If you have a good and strong basics like wheited dips and wheited pull ups, learning skills will be so much easier. But, of course, you can work on different variations of the exercises.

Hey Reda, what's up bro. My man, this has been proved by many people. Let's say there are 2 guys, same genetic and everything, but one of them doesn't work on strong basics, just in statics movements with thousands of progressions, and the other guy work until he has strong basics like dips and pull ups. I can guarantee you that the guy how worked in strong basics will learn in general any skill faster than the other guy. And of course it depends of many things. But in general the body is adapted to the movements and has the strength to progress faster than the other body that hasn't enough strength and will take years to learn any single skill, while the other guy, in general, can learn it in months maybe, because the body has enough strength to start doing statics. Again, is my opinion, but has been proved by a lot of strong people.
Tip on how to increase your reps
Tip on how to do more reps if your goal is to reach failure in the set: If let’s say today your goal is to reach failure at the rep range of 10 reps on pull ups, then you should do 5-6 reps non-stop and after that do 1 by 1 reps with a little rest at the bottom of the movement. Just like this: 5-6 reps nonstop -> 1-2 sec rest a while hanging on the bar -> 1 more rep -> again rest at the bottom while hanging for like 1-3 sec -> and so on. Before your last rep you may take couple of deep breaths and rest while hanging for like 3-5 sec. This is the best way to max out. This technique can add like 1-2 reps to your set if done right.

Those are interesting methods. I don't recommend changing the exercises.
