Plagiocephaly baby
Baby Harry has 7 weeks old. He doesn’t turn the neck to the right side naturally. Always has a preference to the left. His birth has been c-section because the mum had preeclampsia. He had a tongue tie and they cut it straight away. I have been adjusting 3 times now: C0, craneal and intraoral. Still no change in turning neck. His mother asked me if buying a pillow to make him stay in one side would be a good idea (picture attached). What are your thoughts about the pillow and tips about this case? For the rest he is fine, just a curious thing the mum has way more milk in one breast than the other, literally they look very uneven in size since she is breastfeeding and he is hungry every 40minutes (I told her to make sure to finish one full breast), is that normal? And the mum is struggling with grip strength in her hands, I can see her hands, forearms, ankles and calfs very swollen. Is there something you would recommend? (Attaching her bloods) Thanks so much ❤️

@Jennifer Barham-Floreani I’m not sure if it’s occipital rocking but gently lifting it and also doing the sweep for any tension felt. How “hard” can you go on spreading the sutures ? eyeball pressure ? Thank you !

@Simon Floreani thank you Simon ! Good reminder, I will try working on the sutures when I see him next.
Epilepsy, childhood migraine, practitioner self care, CNS nutrition
Covers Epilepsy v childhood migraine, communicating to parents when they have medical confidence melting and giving them alternatives to hang on to in a chiropractic domain, philosophy and competition challenges in the office, specifics on lifting sphenoid and gag reflex threshold. How to explain threshold to parents and clients. Communication • Give homework to give families back control. Management then tells them to call back and get checked. Calling back to get checked is part of the homework. • Changing diagnoses (example: epilepsy → migraine). Some clients hold onto one diagnosis and forget there is hope. • “I get adjusted myself. I want you to have the same.” Patients advice- small goes a long way • Cranial work improves CSF and blood flow to the brain. • Small advice goes a long way: TMJ issues in bald patients — cold stresses the system. Keep warmth in the body (beanie). • Avoid overtightening suboccipitals and TMJ strain. • Point-dog hold Hold 10 seconds to reset posture and nervous system awareness. Teach patients to “snap to attention.” Nervous System Nutrition • Nutrition = basics of feeding the nervous system. • GABA • Building block of brain scaffolding • Stress depletes it • Research shows it can reduce tics and seizures • Improves clarity, focus, and response to adjustment • Poor suture texture (“wood-like”) + low CSF = need amino acids to build tissue strength. • Omegas improve fat conduction and tissue strength. • Ornithine supports CSF production. • If patients don’t have good nutritional input, adjustments happen on “squishy tissue” and won’t be as effective. Practitioner Self-Care • Self-care = life-giving back into your tank (Mother Nature). • Low suboccipital tone + looking down + fast impulse = mini whiplash, being the bench higher. • The energy exchange is real — protect your own system. • Switch off when you leave practice. • Separate work and home (uniform mindset). Create a transition ritual. • Write down unfinished thoughts at the end of the day so you start fresh tomorrow.

Any experience with chiari malformation ?
I have no experience with chiari malformation and a woman with chiari malformation came in with acute sacral burning pain with occasional left leg radiation. She also has migraines, headaches and recurrent dizziness episodes. She has had decompression for chiari malformation and a brain shunt. She has been advised against chiropractic due the the chiari malformation. Any tips ? Thank you!
Young woman - 2 years of pins and needles in legs
I have recently seen for an initial consultation a young mom that has had pins and needles as well as pain in her legs since her pregnancy 2 years before. She had a horse riding accident at 14 years old (horse stepped on her) and was bedridden for weeks and then using a wheelchair for a few weeks too. She's had back issues ever since. She does not remember exactly the type of injury she had at the time. She has been doing physio, including lumbar decompression for the past few months with no improvements. Any tips ? I will post her xrays in the comments

2 year old and slurred speech
I have a 2 year old coming for regular adjustments since a few weeks. We got really good results with the gait (that's what mom was worried about). But I have noticed that his speech is not great, almost like a slurred speech. He is a mouth breather and has seen an ENT recently. They advised adenoids and tonsils surgery. I have worked on the sphenoid and palate a few times, I'm not sure what else I could work on to help. He might have a tongue tie but I am not sure how to confirm it. Any help will be appreciated, thank you !
