Portfolio advice
Hello! What do you think about portfolios? What should they have? Like personal info and projects you’ve worked on? Or must it be some pet project? I've faced the requirement of a portfolio many times when applying.

In my opinion if the goal is to get a job(which it probably is in most cases) you must have at least one project in your portfolio that is big enough to have certain level of complexity that will let you show off your skills - technologies that you know, best practices in code etc. Most of the time it will be an overkill to use certain technology, but the idea of a portfolio is to show off basically πŸ˜€. The concept/idea of the project itself as Gabriel said is more to motivate/inspire you to stick to it, but you can take the most trivial idea and get creative with it like a simple todo app for example - you can make it simple or make it support registrations, have history of completed todos, create some interesting ui and so on. A better portfolio in my opinion are open source contributions though, but this is not always easy to do. Depends on the repo. Hope I gave you some helpful info πŸ™Œ

Currently front end but I want to shift to backend at some point. I have some nodejs( +express) knowledge, but never really did no complex backend development. In my day to day job when people know that I have more experience as a FE dev rarely I have the chance to take backend tasks because of deadlines and such. Which is unfortunate, because my job title says full stack, which is a lie :D
