Welcome Everyone Introduce Yourself! 🥳
🚨 [Update: As you read some of these introductions, smash THEIR LIKE BUTTON 👍 Take it one step further by commenting on their introduction to earn bonus points and unlock more features in this group.]🚨 I am thankful to you all for joining this group. Could you please introduce yourself? Not only does this allow us to get to know everyone, but SKOOL is built on points. (Liking, Commenting, and Posting all give you points). Points will also unlock classroom courses for you! Check out the Getting Started Welcome Course: https://swiy.co/getting-started So let's get things started! When I was teaching in the classroom, we would go around the room and have you do the following. 1. State Your Name (Skool does this one for us - lol) 2. What had you been interested in learning to code? 3. What is your favorite potato? Me: What sparked my interest was my enjoyment of problem-solving and making life easier for myself. I wanted to learn how to create apps that could help my kids learn math and spelling, so I developed apps for that purpose. As far as a favorite potato. I would say Chick-fil-A fries. 🔥 As always, help this community grow. Skool gives you a special invite code. This also serves as your affiliate code, as being part of this group gives you the ability to earn a 40% commission. This applies to one-time purchases of courses or our premium membership.

Hello Mr. Vanarsdall and everybody, thank you for having me! I'll be completely transparent - i'm a total noob! I've always spent the majority of my free time playing with computers, video games, programs, of all sorts of devices. I've always enjoyed peering behind the scenes of things, given that coding is the underlying foundation of programs and games, i took a great interest in that, but every single attempt to develop any baseline skills concluded in the same problem: i don't understand the context of what i'm practicing. The "Hello world" exercise, for example, doesn't help me understand how i could apply this to further understand how to program an app some day. I refuse to let my shortcomings prevent me from discovering a very interesting hobby and line of work, one i feel i am very capable of accomplishing with persistence, along with the intentional effort of possibly needing to put aside what i think i know, in order to better learn and grasp something new. I am willing to commit at least 1 hour per day, or 2 longer sessions per week, to study and absorb what i can. My plan 'A' is to obtain CompTIA+, land an entry level job in IT/Help desk, and continually develop talent in programming. If the stars align, i will become capable and experienced enough to develop a mobile app for android and hopefully iPhone, possibly with some website integration/accessibility too, with features including in game purchases (monetization!) , online connectivity (multiplayer, rankings, account, ads, surveys) , and a functional game itself!
