Have You Reached Your "Tipping Point?"
There comes a time in every skater's journey when they must venture past their tipping point for better understanding. Let me explain. On your roller skates, I want you to hold on to something to hold yourself up with your hands and using one leg, begin to press into your outer edge. Press into them slowly, slowly, with increasing pressure over time. Continue to press until that moment happens, the tipping point. When you press so much that your inside edge wheels lift off of the ground. Consider this your full range of motion for your edges. Now you know you can lean this far before your wheels tip over off the ground. There is so much fear around leaning on edges and falling, but most skaters don't even know what they are afraid of. You haven't even explored how much you need to lean for that to even happen. This concept I teach in more detail in the intermediate course you can watch here <--- Can you lean deeply into the full range of your edges yet?
