🎻 Birth of Entropy: Stems, Logic Session, and Remix Contest.
Hey everyone, A couple of weeks ago, I wrote an original composition for our Fix the Mix with Orchestral Tools. I’ve honestly been blown away by the responses. Many of you left comments, sent me DMs, or emailed me about it. To say thanks, I wanted to give the track, the stems, and the session a permanent home. 🔗 Song Assets: Download Link - My original mix - All the stems - The Logic Pro session (Thanks @Josh K for the idea) In Logic, you can press "H" to show hidden tracks and see all the MIDI behind the strings and orchestral parts, plus the automation I used to make the samples feel human and realistic: dynamics, expression, articulation changes, and plugin automation. If you don’t own the Orchestral Tools libraries, the instruments won’t load, but all the MIDI and automation will still be there to study and reuse. 🎵 Remix Contest I’m releasing Birth of Entropy under my tethermind project as a single on Friday, November 20, and I’d love to hear what you can do with the stems. - Remix: Any genre, any direction. Flip it, chop it, make it your own. - Deadline: Sunday, October 25 at 11:59 PM Mountain Time (Countdown Timer) - Submission: post your remix as a comment on this post (SoundCloud, Disco, or Drive link) - Prize: My favorite remix gets officially released with my original as a two-song single on November 20, on Spotify, Apple Music, and all streaming platforms. You’ll be credited as the remixer and receive 50% of the remix’s streaming royalties. Stems are for this contest and personal practice. Please don’t release your remix publicly until the contest wraps; I’ll share full details on usage after the single is out.

Couldn't agree more! Joseph has been so helpful and quick to pickup where you as a student are at with your abilities. This has been fun!
Pinging out a room for mixing
Good morning everyone, I've been using headphones for the past 5 months out of laziness haha. Just got setup to ping my studio room, I have some isolation blankets and foam bass traps installed in the typical areas of concern, after running a Pink noise generator, I'm finding a good sized hump at 125hz to 250hz. I also notice this is the frequency range I most notably fight to get right with mixing between headphones and monitors. Here is my question. Does a person continue on and know to cut those frequencies down a bit going forward knowing full well that band is boosted in the environment? or try and eliminate those nodes and deaden the room more? Really just seeing what you all would do in this case. Let me know and thank you in advance!

@David Brancato Apprciate the app suggestion, I have and RTA mic already, the EQ response curve of the room is relatively flat like i said, Ive moved some speakers and bit to improve, gonna dive in a bit deeper. Thank you!
